About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor based in Manchester, working face-to-face and online. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including abuse, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
Before I re-trained as a counsellor, I worked in the charity sector for over 8 years, mostly in LGBTQ+ health. Over the years, I've gained a broad understanding of issues relating to gender identity and sexuality, such as coming out, discrimination, and minority stress.
The way I work is rooted in the humanistic approach. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to explore alongside the client with what they bring, helping to find a way forward that is right for you. I work with clients in a holistic and gentle way. I am warm, understanding, and bring an occasional sense of humour(!).
I am committed to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice, and welcome clients from all backgrounds.
I recognise how important it is to find a therapist that you can connect with - I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is a key part of what makes counselling successful. To that end, I offer a free initial video call, lasting around 20-30 minutes, to find out if we might be able to work together.
