About me and my therapy practice
I understand how complex and overwhelming life can feel at times; my work is rooted in creating a safe space where you can feel heard, respected and empowered to explore whatever challenges you may be facing. I believe passionately that we all have the ability to make changes to how we live our lives.
I am an integrative practitioner, I draw from a range of counselling and coaching approaches, this allows me to offer a flexible, responsive and thoughtful approach; supporting you in a way that feels right for you depending on your unique needs, personality and goals.
Prior to qualifying as a Counsellor Coach, I worked for over 30 years in mainstream and SEND education settings, as a teacher, SENDCo, outreach and advisory teacher; supporting young people, parents and professionals. I am also a parenting coach and have facilitated many parent groups.
I enjoy working with people; building trusting relationships by actively listening, exploring challenges with them and supporting them to make a plan going forward by building on their existing strengths.
My work supports those navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, self-compassion, bereavement, anger, conflict, identity, abuse, life transitions and relationship difficulties.
I very much value my own experiences of personal therapy. Sitting in a safe space, free of judgement, talking things through, hearing your own words out loud is very powerful.
I hold a BAEd (Art and Education) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London.
Practice description
As an integrative counsellor coach, I draw from a range of counselling and coaching approaches rather than working from just one model. This allows me to offer a flexible, responsive, and thoughtful approach; supporting people in a way that feels right for them depending on their unique needs, personality and goals.
For example, I may use elements from person-centred counselling (which focuses on building a trusting, empathetic relationship), cognitive behavioural techniques (to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected), or psychodynamic insights (to look at how past experiences may be influencing the present). I also integrate coaching tools to support personal growth, goal-setting, and building confidence.
I work with clients aged 16+
I offer in-person (Buckhurst Hill, Barkingside, South Woodford & Wanstead) and online therapy.
I charge £60 per 50 minute session.
I reserve a limited number of concessionary rates for those on low income or in full time education. Please feel free to enquire about the availability of these concessions.
I work with people on a long or short term basis.
My first session
I offer a free initial 15 minute phone call so that we can talk through your reasons for seeking therapy and see whether we feel we can start working together.
If you are looking for a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be yourself, please do get in touch.
I will respond to you to arrange an initial phone call.
Please email me with any questions you may have.
