Crouch End N8

  • Concessionary rates

Availability

I offer online and in-person counselling/therapy on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

About me and my therapy practice

I work from a person-centred foundation, which means my priority will be to nurture your healing, self-awareness and growth. It means our therapeutic relationship will be collaborative, while I’ll also be taking your lead. My intention is to enable you to be a more confident and resilient person, with the necessary emotional and inner resources to meet the challenges that life presents.

My approach is influenced by mindfulness meditation, conflict mediation, and group facilitation in environmental and social justice movements. I bring over a decade of experience as a community organiser and political campaigner in grassroots collectives. I am committed to individual and collective liberation, with experience facilitating spaces that help participants reconnect with themselves, others, and nature.

Alongside my counselling qualification, I hold a Master’s degree in Creative and Critical Writing from Birkbeck, University of London, and a degree in Geography from the University of Leeds. I am a published writer in counselling studies: ‘Counselling in the Probation Service: Counselling for Social Control or Social Liberation?’ https://doi.org/10.54006/JECF8571

Practice description

Sliding Scale Payment

I believe counselling should not be a commodified service. My preference is to work in a socialised economy (subsidised by the taxpayer), or in a ‘gift economy’, where a donation is freely given (or not). For personal and structural economic reasons — which I’d be happy to explore with you — I currently charge a sliding scale from £30 per session online, and £40 per session in-person (because of room hire).

You are invited to choose a rate that feels affordable and fair to you — no explanation is required. If you feel comfortable paying £50, £70, £100 or any higher amount per session then great, your support is appreciated.

I welcome reflection on power, identity, and economic class within the therapeutic space, should that feel relevant to you.

My first session

To begin with, I offer a free 20 minute consultation for you to decide whether we're a good fit.

I look forward to hearing from you.
