About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming when we face change, uncertainty, or challenging experiences. Relationship difficulties, work stress, major life transitions, or emotional struggles can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected from ourselves.
I provide a safe and compassionate space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. My work is grounded in an attachment-based approach, helping us understand how early relationships and life experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, and how this may influence the difficulties you face now.
While I have particular experience supporting people through loss, serious illness, and life-limiting conditions, I work with a wide range of emotional and relational concerns. Together, we can build insight, self-compassion, and emotional resilience, helping you feel more grounded and supported when life feels overwhelming.
I offer counselling services for:
Grief and bereavement,
Chronic and life-limiting illness
Carers
Other life-changing events - divorce, redundancies, relationship breakdown
Practice description
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s affecting you, build insight, and develop self-compassion and resilience.
My approach is attachment-based, recognising how past and present relationships shape the way we cope. You don’t need to have all the answers—counselling is a collaborative process that helps you find clarity, balance, and support for moving forward.
I offer one-to-one counselling in person in a comfortable counselling room in Amersham, or on Zoom, or on the telephone. My room is in an office five minutes’ walk from the station, and there is parking nearby.
My first session
When you reach out, I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone or Zoom call. This gives us both the chance to get to know each other a little, and to talk about what has brought you to counselling in a relaxed, informal way.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, I’ll ask you to complete a short form for our records and to sign a counselling agreement. This helps us create a clear, safe framework for our work together so we can focus on what matters most—supporting you.
