About me and my therapy practice

I’m Hannes, an integrative psychotherapist offering thoughtful, collaborative therapy for adults and young people aged 16 and over. My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to explore whatever matters to you — whether that’s a specific difficulty or a broader question about how you want to live.

People often come to me when they’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or struggling to make sense of painful experiences. I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, identity questions, loss, trauma, and a general sense of unease or dissatisfaction.

I draw from existential, psychodynamic, and person-centred traditions, adapting my approach to meet the needs of each person I work with. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a space that feels genuine, respectful and open.

Practice description

I offer both short-term (6–12 sessions) and longer-term therapy, depending on what feels most helpful. Sessions are available online and in person in Manchester.

My practice is inclusive and affirming, and I welcome clients from all backgrounds. I work particularly well with people who are questioning how they want to live, who are navigating life changes or facing uncertainty, and those drawn to therapy for reflection rather than diagnosis.

Before training as a therapist, I worked for over a decade in community-based mental health and social care settings. I’ve lived in different parts of the world, taught scuba diving, and worked with people of all ages and walks of life. These experiences continue to shape my values and how I connect with others.

Whatever brings you to therapy, we can explore it together — at your pace, and in a way that feels safe and meaningful.
