About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Tammy (Yun-Ting). Welcome to my professional profile.

Perhaps you’re trying to adjust to a new way of living, feeling the weight of expectations while missing the comfort of home. Maybe your relationships are leaving you drained rather than fulfilled. You might be going through the pain of grief or bereavement, trying to make sense of life after a loss. Or perhaps past experiences or trauma are making it difficult to feel safe and at ease in the present. You want to learn about yourself and understand your experiences.

I aim to offer well-suited work with people at their own pace. it is nonjudgemental and supportive. I specialize in working with bereavement, grief and trauma as well as issues with anxiety, life transitions and relationships. My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences and help you understand yourself better, with greater clarity and control.

You are not alone. I am here to listen to you and support you.

*A bit about me:

I have been volunteering at Cruse Leeds, supporting individuals experiencing grief since 2022. As a previous career, I spent 8 years in Mandarin teaching in school, and private settings.

When I am not working, you will likely find me walking, reading or cooking. I also actively engage in peer support groups with UK based therapists, continually growing in how I support clients and myself.

Practice description

I offer a safe, warm, compassionate space to walk with you in this journey. In the space, it is non-judgemental and supportive. My aim is to work with you together and to help you make sense of your experiences and help you understand yourself better.

I work primarly person-centred and integrately with psychodynamic, which means you can talk about yourself freely and I help you recognise your relational patterns with others by asking questions. It may take some time to process the feelings and thoughts and you might feel heavy in the beginning. This is normal for us when we explore deeper in our experiences. As a result, it is possible that you have greater clarity, you have more choices and control in your life, and you can change the old ways of being and feel much better towards yourself.

My first session

New clients are invited to arrange an initial brief call, during which we can discuss your needs and what you are hoping for from therapy. This call also provides an opportunity to ask any questions and determine whether we are a good fit to work together. Following this, we can schedule your first therapy session. In the first session, we will go over important details such as confidentiality, the structure of our sessions, and the therapy agreement. We will also begin exploring what brings you to therapy and outline goals to guide our work together.
