About me and my therapy practice

Life has a way of presenting us with unexpected and undeserved challenges that can leave us feeling overwhelmed.

I can't tell you therapy is always easy, but with work, and the right therapist, it can be transformative.

Whilst therapy can be difficult, it doesn't have to be clinical.  As a relational therapist, connection is at the heart of our work. I meet you where you are, to find light in the dark.

I provide a space where you are truly heard and understood. Where you can be your authentic self, or indeed discover who and what that is.

Together, and at your pace, we can explore how your past is impacting your present, discuss unresolved issues, and understand patterns of behavior, to provide insight into the challenges you are facing.

I'm passionate about the work that I do, and believe deeply in the positive impact therapy can have on quality of life.

Practice description

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is where change and growth happens. As I am integratively trained, I am able to draw on various models and theories to work with you as an individual, rather than adopting a one size fits all approach. My aim is to work with you to create a trusting and authentic, collaborative relationship, in which we can unpick what is going on for you.

Within the security of our therapeutic relationship, you are free to explore, with empathy, and without judgement.  Through this process, you have the opportunity to gain a new or deeper understanding of yourself, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your life.

I undertake my private practice as part of Arbour Counselling and Psychotherapy, a small collective of therapists based in Chapel Allerton. In addition to this work I provide therapy to people within the criminal justice system. In both environments I support individuals with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, with particular experience of working with trauma and abuse, having a deep understanding how such issues can impact daily life and relationships.

It takes real guts to be vulnerable and seek help, but this is the first step.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly finding the right therapist. This is why I offer a free 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you may have, and discuss if we are the right fit for each other.

During our first 50 minute therapeutic session, we will begin to look at what has brought you to therapy and how we might work together.

Please feel free to contact me for further information or to arrange an appointment.
