About me and my therapy practice

My name is Chris, and I am a person-centred therapist dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s emotional challenges with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. My practice is centred on the valuing of the human condition; each of us holds within ourselves the capacity for growth and healing when met with genuine understanding and respect.

In our sessions, clients are welcomed into a safe, non-judgmental environment where they can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I work collaboratively to help individuals reconnect with themselves, make sense of, and find meaning in, their experiences, and move toward greater self-awareness and emotional wellbeing.

Whether someone is coping with anxiety, grief, life transitions, or seeking greater self-acceptance, my approach will always be unique, focussed on your needs. My support is compassionate, respectful, and deeply human.

I’m currently welcoming new clients, and I would be honoured to walk alongside anyone ready to begin this journey of personal discovery and emotional healing.

Practice description

My practice overlooks the Shore in Leith—a calm, restorative space where you are invited to be fully yourself.

I have over 16 years NHS experience and a decade of supporting  individuals and groups within the LGBTQ+ community. At 54, I bring clinical training and a depth of life experience that allows me to meet you with grounded empathy, warmth, and steady presence.

Clients tell me they feel safe, grounded and truly seen in our sessions. That’s not accidental—it's the heart of my work.  Therapy here isn’t about fixing, it’s about cultivating real, sustainable change at a pace that honours your unique process. Together, we explore the layers of your experience.

My practice is trauma-informed and fully LGBTQ+ affirming. I have particular experience supporting trans clients around identity, safety, and belonging. I understand that healing comes from being met exactly as you are—with respect, curiosity, and the belief that you hold the wisdom of your own life.

For those navigating neurodivergence, I offer a flexible and collaborative approach that recognises the diverse ways we make sense of the world.

Our work may include unpacking anxiety, grief, low self-worth, identity questions, or relationship difficulties. You’re welcome whether your challenges feel big or small, defined, or uncertain. We will explore whatever you bring, in whatever way feels most helpful to you. I don't come with a checklist—I come with a willingness to listen and to walk beside you.

Sessions are available online or in-person, offering flexibility and choice. I hold space for adults of all backgrounds, and I welcome people from marginalised communities with particular care.

The practice is located in a quiet, light-filled room - an intentional environment for reflection and connection.

This is a space where you can lay things down. Breathe. Speak. Be met. You deserve to heal. You deserve to feel safe. And you deserve support that recognises the complexity, beauty, and power of your story.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel daunting – I understand. I offer one-to-one 50-minute sessions, usually once per week, at the same time and day if required. Our first session will be an opportunity to develop a sense of what has brought you to therapy and to get to know each other. If we both agree that working together is a good fit, I encourage clients to commit to six weeks to allow time to get a sense of what might be possible and also time to process what might arise in the initial sessions.
