Diverse Minds Therapeutic Practice
A Safe, Nurturing Space to Honour Your Story, Heal from Experiences, and Rediscover Your Authentic Self.
**About Me**
Hello, my name is Rebecca, a qualified trauma-informed therapist based in London. I have a diploma in higher education (DipHE) Person-Centred Counselling and a First Class BA HONS Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I aim to support you to find your voice and reshape your narrative. Drawing from my British-Caribbean heritage, I bring a deep understanding of diverse backgrounds, creating a safe and supportive environment for all my clients.
I work in many areas, but specialise in working with individuals facing challenges such as:
- Domestic Abuse
- Rape and Sexual Abuse
- Divorce and Separation
- Infant loss and Support for Rainbow babies
- Bereavement and Loss
- Trauma
- Racial Trauma
- Childhood Abuse
- Parenting and Family issues
My therapeutic approach is person-centred, focusing on your unique experiences and emotions. I believe in your inherent capacity for growth, and together, we will cultivate a trusting relationship that encourages you to share your thoughts and feelings.
Many clients come to me feeling unheard. In our sessions, your experiences will be validated. We may explore how past and present issues can affect the mind and body connection. I integrate mindfulness techniques to help you connect with the present moment, as well as somatic practices including breathing and grounding exercises.
Additionally, I utilise solution-focused strategies to empower you in recognising your strengths and setting achievable goals.
I honour your unique story, ensuring that our work together feels safe and comfortable.
If you’re ready to embark on your journey toward healing and self-discovery, please feel free to get in touch.
My first session
In our first counselling session together, we will establish a clear understanding of the counselling process. We will begin by discussing what brought you here and your goals for our work together.
We will cover important aspects such as confidentiality, session structure, and your rights as a client. This is also a great time for you to ask any questions or express any concerns you might have.
Additionally, we will discuss the concept of a "contract," which outlines our mutual responsibilities and expectations, ensuring we create a collaborative and respectful space for your growth.
Overall, the session will be a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings, and to start building a foundation for our work together.
