About me and my therapy practice

Life can be challenging. Our relationships — with ourselves, others, and the world around us — can often feel complex and overwhelming. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone anymore.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for the next part of your life’s journey — a time of exploration and healing. Together, we can work out what’s not feeling right and begin to make sense of it, even if things feel hopeless or confusing right now.

At the heart of our work will be a trusting, collaborative relationship. I will listen with care and compassion and do my best to understand your world from your perspective. You are the most important person in this process. Your voice matters — and I believe that being truly heard can be the first step towards change.

You set the pace. Whether it takes time to open up or you’re ready to get started straight away, that’s completely okay. This is your space. We’ll work together to find a way forward that makes sense for you and supports your wellbeing.

Therapy can take place face to face, online, or by phone — the choice is yours. You are free to end therapy at any point. There will be no pressure or judgement.

Practice description

I am an integrative practitioner, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and theories to support you in a way that feels tailored and relevant. I work through a relational framework, because research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is key to effective therapy.

My practice brings together relational aspects of psychotherapy theory including:

• Person-centred

• Relational

• Attachment

• Interpersonal

• Compassion

• Cognitive-behavioural

• Existential

These are integrated in a flexible and thoughtful way, based on who you are, what you’ve experienced, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, low mood, loss, identity issues, relationship struggles, or feeling stuck and unsure why — we’ll explore this together, always at your pace and with your goals in mind.

Qualifications and background

• MA Integrative Counselling - Distinction

• BA (Hons) Language and Communication – First Class

I am a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ and work in accordance with their ethical framework, which means I prioritise your safety, wellbeing, and autonomy at all times.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a wide range of roles and settings — including a multinational blue-chip company, financial services, local government, both primary and secondary schools, an NHS trust, a youth offender institution, and as a stay-at-home mum. These varied experiences help me understand the many pressures people face in different walks of life.

Much of my life has been dedicated to helping others realise their potential — whether in education, speech and language therapy, or workplace training. I now bring that same commitment into the therapy room.

Final note

I have a passion for helping people move towards greater freedom, hope, and a more fulfilling life. If you feel I could support you on your journey, I’d be happy to hear from you.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you're not sure what to expect. You might feel nervous, uncertain, or even wonder if your problems are "serious enough" for therapy.

Let us reassure you: if it matters to you, it matters. Therapy isn’t about being broken. It’s about being heard.

Here’s what you can expect in your first session — so you feel more prepared and less alone.

Before the First Session

Once you get in touch, we’ll arrange an introductory session at a time that works for you. You can choose how we meet:

• In person (Leeds) — I’ll send directions and everything you need to know

• Online — You’ll receive a Zoom link before the session

• By phone — I’ll call you at the agreed time

The introductory session is half price, and there’s no charge for our initial contact where we arrange it.

During the First Session

This session is a gentle introduction. We won’t dive into anything heavy unless you’re ready. It’s your space, and you set the pace.

Together, we might:

• Explore what’s brought you to therapy

• Talk about what you're hoping to get from our work together

• Discuss any previous experiences with counselling (good or bad)

• Go over practical details like timing, frequency, and boundaries

There’s no pressure to explain everything perfectly — just come as you are.

Finding the Right Fit

A key part of therapy is the relationship between us. The first session is also a chance to see if we’re a good fit. You should feel safe, heard, and respected.

If it doesn’t feel quite right — that’s okay. Finding the right therapist is part of the process.
