About me and my therapy practice

I'm an integrative counsellor based in Northern Ireland, offering sessions face to face, online, or by phone.

Coming to therapy can feel like a big step, and my priority is to offer a safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate space where you can be honest — with me and with yourself — without fear of being judged.

I work integratively, which means I don't use a single fixed model but instead draw on different approaches depending on what feels right for you, including:

Person-centred therapy — I believe you are the expert on your own life. I won't tell you what to think or do; instead, I offer a genuine, empathic relationship in which you can explore what's really going on for you, at your own pace

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) — where helpful, we can look at the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, bringing clarity to patterns that may be keeping you stuck

Somatic and embodiment approaches — recognising that difficult experiences are held in the body as well as the mind, and that reconnecting with bodily sensation can support deeper understanding and healing

There's no set formula to how sessions unfold. Some weeks we might talk things through; other times we might slow down and notice what's happening in your body, or work more directly with thoughts and beliefs. I follow your lead, adapting the approach to suit what you bring each session.

Whatever has brought you to counselling, you can expect to be met with warmth, respect, and genuine care — a space where you're free to explore without judgement.

Practice description

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I offer integrative counselling to adults from my practice space in Portadown. If face to face doesn't suit, I also offer sessions by Zoom or phone, so you can choose whatever fits your circumstances and feels most comfortable for you.

Getting in touch is often the hardest part, so I try to keep the first step simple. Please email me at linda@mindspaceni.com with an initial enquiry, and we can arrange a brief conversation where you can ask any questions and get a feel for whether I might be the right fit for you — there's no pressure or obligation at this stage.

Sessions are £50 each and typically last 50 minutes, taking place on a regular, agreed basis, usually weekly. How long we work together varies from person to person; some clients come for a short period to work through something specific, while others prefer longer-term, open-ended support. We'll review this together as we go, so the pace and length of therapy stays right for you.

Above all, what you can expect from me is a consistent, safe, and non-judgemental space — somewhere you can bring whatever you're carrying, without fear of judgement, and be met with compassion and care.

I look forward to hearing from you.

My first session

My First Session Details

Before booking, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This gives you the chance to ask questions, share a little about what's brought you to counselling, and get a feel for whether we might be a good fit — with no obligation.

Your first full session is an in-depth assessment, charged at my standard rate of £50, and typically lasts the full session length.

During this session, we'll:

Go through contracting, so you understand how counselling works, confidentiality, and boundaries

Note your contact details and an emergency contact

Discuss relevant background, including any medications you're currently taking

Talk through what's brought you to counselling and what you feel you need support with

Agree a suitable day and time for ongoing sessions, if we decide to move forward together

There's no pressure at this stage — it's an opportunity for us to meet properly, ask any remaining questions, and decide together whether this feels like the right fit for you.
