About me and my therapy practice
I’m an open and approachable counsellor offering a warm, calm space in which you can explore difficult feelings and issues without judgement, and at your own pace.
I work with individual adults and young people from a welcoming space in Peckham who may be living with depression, low mood, anxiety or loss. I have particular experience working with those who have navigated bereavement, and specialist experience in fertility issues and the impact of adoption.
My natural interest in people has led me to a lifetime of listening. My career as a writer and published author has brought me into contact with people from all kinds of backgrounds and professions which, I believe, has helped me be a better and more broad-minded counsellor.
Practice description
My training is in integrative counselling, which means I draw upon different approaches that can be adapted to your needs. It might be helpful, for example, to explore how your early experiences or past relationships could be impacting those in the present. We may also focus on a specific and current problem or challenge, fear or dilemma. Talking things through in a collaborative, down-to-earth and empathic way can help bring clarity, acceptance and change.
I offer both short and long term sessions. Short term work is between six to twelve sessions, and would typically focus on a specific area.
Long term or open-ended counselling offers more space and time for exploration and will involve regular reviews on how you are finding our work together.
I am currently continuing my training in somatic-informed counselling which focuses on the connection between mind and body.
My first session
Our initial, 50 minute session will be at a reduced rate of £45. In this session you can tell me a bit about what has brought you to therapy, and to ask any questions about the way I work. It's also a chance for us to consider whether we're the right fit to work together, and for me to think about whether I'm the best person to support you.
Further sessions £65
