About me and my therapy practice
Life can be complicated. Every day presents us with new challenges. Heartbreak. Difficult decisions. Crossroads. Mental health struggles. Family complications. Grief.
We can’t avoid life’s challenges – nor should we want to, because it’s how we respond and adapt to them that helps us shape the kind of life we want to live. But that doesn’t mean that you have to figure it all on your own. Therapy helps you make sense of whatever you’re going through, and adapt and grow around your changing world.
In our sessions:
- You’ll get a better understanding of yourself and how your experiences have shaped you.
- You’ll find out what you need, and how to get those needs filled in healthy ways.
- You’ll start to notice patterns, both in yourself & in important relationships in your life.
- You’ll explore what makes your life meaningful & how to work towards your goals.
As we work together, you’ll start to trust yourself more, listen to your inner wisdom, and reconnect with your own resources and strengths. You might not see that possibility yet, but I will, from our very first session, because this is a journey I have been on with so many people, from a range of backgrounds, ages & experiences.
I'm trained in humanistic integrative therapy: in less fancy words, that means I base my approach on the belief that you are the one with the answers (even though you might not feel like you do right now). You don’t need someone to tell you what to do or how to think or feel. You need someone to walk alongside you, to help you navigate through whatever you are dealing with, and stay safe as you do so.
I work with clients over the age of 18, and have experience working with a range of issues, but especially trauma and grief. I am also a trainer, delivering education for organisations like Cruse Bereavement Support on topics ranging from neurodivergence & grief to traumatic loss, such as after suicide or alcohol or drug misuse.
