About me and my therapy practice
Deep down, you know that you are a unique and beautiful addition to the world. Sadly, life can sometimes lead us to doubt our own worth. Authority figures, and even our friends and partners may unknowingly squash our confidence, making us feel small or unseen. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, sadness, or a sense of disconnection, and cause us to hide or ignore important parts of ourselves. These parts often contain our most joyful, valuable, loveable and loving true selves.
I am a qualified integrative therapist, which means I draw from several therapeutic approaches to tailor the work to you. I work with a wide variety of clients, who often come to me with issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or a feeling of being 鈥渟tuck鈥.
Together, we will explore your present challenges and your history, including past situations and relationships that may be preventing you from flourishing in life, work or love. By helping you to improve the relationship that you have with you, I hope to alleviate the anxiety or sadness that you may be feeling.
Practice description
I qualified in 2019 as an integrative counsellor, which combines an accepting and non-judgmental attitude with an analytical approach. My style is warm and engaged. After listening and considering, I will share what I think, even if those thoughts are occasionally challenging.
I work with clients from all backgrounds, but 20-years as a journalist and copywriter allow me to understand some of the issues affecting those working in the creative industries. Also, my experience as a mother gives me insight into the unique joys and challenges of parenthood, including in unconventional circumstances.
Counselling can be a difficult but highly rewarding process. It can help you arrive at important insights, and support you in making changes that enhance your sense of living authentically and with enjoyment. I feel privileged to accompany clients as they travel towards a greater understanding not only of themselves, but also their relationships with family, friends, partners, work, and with the wider world.
Because the quality of the working relationship between client and counsellor is very important, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to help us decide if we are a good fit.
My first session
In our first session, we will look at a counselling contract together, and agree how we will work. I will be interested to hear what brings you to therapy, what you would like to change, heal or explore while in counselling, and establish your goals for therapy.
On beginning work, we'll discuss your present situation and concerns, before approaching how your past may be influencing your current feelings and circumstances.
Regular reviews about how you are finding therapy, and our relationship, will help you get the most from the experience.
