About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I’m Grace. If you’re here, you’re likely taking the first brave steps in looking for a therapist. I'd love to learn more about you and see how we could work together on your healing journey.
I offer a supportive, compassionate and judgement-free space to help you explore whatever you’re going through. I am an integrative counsellor - which means I use lots of different styles of therapy (including Person-Centred, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Existential) and will tailor my approach to suit your needs.
I strive to provide a safe, confidential environment in which you can openly explore whatever may be on your mind, in your own time.
Practice description
I work as holistically as possible – taking into consideration your mind, body, culture, race, spiritual beliefs, neurotype, age, gender identity, sexuality, physical ability, and whatever else may seem relevant. I am encouraging, but will challenge gently too. I won’t offer advice, but I will offer thoughts, reflections and questions to get you thinking, not only in the session but between them as well. Additionally, I often work creatively in sessions, using tools like music, art, nesting dolls, postcards, sandboxes and toys.
My experience includes areas such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, identity exploration, relationship, family and social issues and chronic illness.
Additionally, I specialise in working with the Neurodivergent community, in particular those with ADHD, ASD and Dyslexia. I am also proud to support members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe passionately in offering a queer-friendly and trans inclusive practice.
My first session
Whether you have something specific on your mind or just a sense that now is the right time, finding the right therapist for you is incredibly important.
If you would like a conversation before booking your first session, we can arrange a time for a free phone chat lasting 15 minutes. Please get in touch if you want to book this.
If you'd like to book your first appointment, we will find an agreed-upon time to do our initial session, which will take place online. This will give you a chance to see how you feel about us working together, and for me to get to know you. This is to make sure that I’m able to offer you the best possible support.
In this session, I will explain the counselling process, explore your expectations and needs, and ensure that you feel I am the right person for you. After this, we can commit to a further 6-12 sessions if you have a specific issue you want to work on, or longer open-ended work if appropriate. Following your enquiry, I will require some information (via a form sent to you) before we meet for the first time.
Please get in touch if you have any questions and I really look forward to meeting you.
