About me and my therapy practice
I am a Registered Counsellor with the 麻豆原创, bringing three years of professional practice alongside more than a decade of experience in psychoeducation. My therapeutic approach is grounded in integrative training gained at the University of Warwick and Newman University, Birmingham. I draw from humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT, and Gestalt principles, which allows me to tailor therapy to your individual needs. No two people are the same, and my role is to work with you in a way that honours your unique circumstances, challenges, and hopes.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or the impact of trauma. You may be navigating the challenges of an ASD diagnosis, identity questions, or the pain of a relationship breakdown. You may also be seeking greater self-awareness, healing from past experiences, or space to reflect and grow. Whatever your situation, I believe that therapy can provide an opportunity to be fully seen, heard, and supported in moving toward change and well-being.
In addition to counselling, I bring over 10 years of experience in psychoeducation, offering practical tools that support emotional regulation and deepen awareness of the inner landscape. As a certified facilitator of Cognitively Based Compassion Training (CBCT) and an experienced meditation teacher, I also integrate mindfulness and compassion-based practices into therapy where appropriate. These approaches can help you develop greater resilience, kindness toward yourself, and the ability to navigate life with clarity and balance.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a safe, collaborative, and non-judgemental space. Therapy is not about fixing you, but about walking alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths, explore your challenges, and discover new possibilities for growth. I look forward to accompanying you on this meaningful journey.
Practice description
I work from Centre (https://www.centre-oxfordshire.co.uk/) in Deddington, North Oxfordshire, as part of a group of therapeutic practitioners. I also have a practice in Eynsham, West Oxfordshire. I work with clients face-to-face (short and long term), as well as offering online sessions. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
I provide integrative counselling and psychotherapy which means I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches in my work (Gestalt, Person Centered, CBT, psychodynamic) to best support those I am working with. I am particularly interested in how our thoughts, emotions, and bodily experiences are interconnected. I aim to create a warm, supportive space where clients can explore anxiety, stress, changes in life, relationship challenges, or simply a desire for deeper self-understanding.
My first session
The first sessions in therapy are a gentle beginning鈥攁n opportunity to get to know each other and begin building a safe, trusting relationship. During these early sessions, we'll explore what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and any questions or concerns you may have. It's a space where you're invited to share at your own pace, with no pressure to 鈥渉ave it all figured out.鈥
Together, we'll begin to make sense of your experiences and emotions, while I offer reflections and support grounded in empathy and curiosity. These initial sessions also help us discover whether we鈥檙e a good fit, and how we might work together to support your growth and wellbeing.
