About me and my therapy practice

I offer integrative therapy for adults and couples, and specialise in neurodivergence and mixed cultures. Working integratively draws on different styles of therapy and responds to your personal process.

MY APPROACH

Your needs and intentions for therapy are central to the personalised approach that I offer. Our relationship is collaborative; you are actively supported and have agency over your own development. Sometimes you may want space to talk and process, and other times I am more involved - I adapt to what you need each session, and we regularly review where you're at.

I like to balance creative practices with structure, and the sometimes elusive process of therapy, alongside the desire for practical tools and progress. I also offer context on how therapy works and share psychological knowledge. This can include resources and handouts, if that's something you like.

I apply trauma-sensitive and neuroscientifically supported approaches for a broad range of issues, and I can work with the body-mind connection using mindfulness and somatic tools.

I believe that the world we live in impacts our mental health. I consider our personal, emotional health as not separate from our bodies, nor from the health of our communities and planet. I also consider context, such as culture, identity, intersectionality, and the impact of the social, political and climate challenges of our times.

MY BACKGROUND

I have lived and worked across Europe, the UK, the US, the Middle East, and Asia, and I am of mixed heritage. Prior to being a therapist, I worked in tech and had stints at the UN and in public broadcasting. I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and Therapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have completed extensive other relevant training, such as mindfulness, contemplative psychology and yoga teaching. My non-linear background is reflected in my broad, therapeutic approaches, which I adapt to your needs.

Practice description

I can work with a broad range of people and many themes, such as anxiety, grief, work-related issues, trauma, burnout, depression, and childhood experiences. I draw from lived experience and specialised training when working with the below. Please take a look at my website for more details.

NEURODIVERGENCE, ADHD & AUTISM

I am neurodivergent myself, and I have a particular interest in ADHD, autism and high sensitivity. I am late-diagnosed, and I know from lived experience how important it is to work with a therapist who understands how to adapt therapy to neurodivergent needs. We can focus on specific themes, such as the below, but not limited to:

- neurodivergent burnout and managing energy

- masking, authenticity, self-trust and sense of self

- executive functioning, such as issues with motivation and taking intentional action

- emotional processing and regulation

- sensory needs, sensory processing, and sensory overload

- rejection sensitivity and justice sensitivity

- hormonal impact (PMDD, PMS, perimenopause)

- relationships and couples (ND/ND and ND/NT)

- processing your diagnosis, grief, or support while you wait for an assessment

- accommodations and figuring out your needs

- comorbidities, such as depression, anxiety; as well as trauma

- processing delay

- neurodivergent strengths and education about neurodiversity

I can explore with you how neurodivergence presents in your life, and support you in the changes you may seek.

CULTURE & IDENTITY

I work with cultural sensitivity and questions about identity and belonging, including multi-linguality, being mixed-race, multi-hyphenated identities, and the role of ancestral trauma. I approach this from a point of personal experience, being mixed-heritage myself, a ‘third-culture kid’, and having lived and worked across Europe, the UK, the US, the Middle East and Asia.

I work with couples and specialise in relationships that navigate neurodivergence and/or mixed cultures.
