About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist in advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down and explore your challenges at your own pace.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, navigating a life transition, or carrying pain from the past that still affects you today. I see therapy as a collaborative and empowering process – together we can explore your experiences, make sense of your emotions, and support you in moving towards lasting change and greater self-acceptance.

My approach is relational and trauma-informed. I believe that healing happens in safe and respectful relationships, where all parts of your story are welcome. I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship and to the ways our past experiences can shape how we relate to ourselves and others in the present.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties, parenthood challenges, identity, and childhood trauma. I welcome adult clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.

I offer counselling in English and in French, both in-person in Banchory, Aberdeen and online via MS Teams.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I aim to make the process as welcoming and grounding as possible. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Transactional Analysis, a model that helps us understand how past experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others today. I work relationally and with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique story. Together, we will look at patterns that may be causing distress, and gently explore new ways of being that support growth, healing, and greater self-acceptance.

Clients have described our sessions as insightful, supportive, and empowering. I adapt the pace of our work to your needs, and welcome you to bring whatever feels important — whether it’s something you’re currently facing or something deeper from the past that you would like to explore.

I offer therapy to adults on a weekly or fortnighly basis, either short-term or open-ended. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place in-person in Banchory, Aberdeen or online via MS Teams. I work in both English and French.

My first session

Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 15–20 minute phone or online consultation to help us get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.

In our first full session, I take time to introduce myself and explain how I work. I am open about my cultural background and what this brings to the therapeutic space, as I believe that our experiences identities can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others.

I will go over the practical and ethical foundations of therapy — including confidentiality, its limits, and the boundaries and structure of our sessions. We will also go through an intake form together, which helps me understand key aspects of your background and current circumstances.

This first session is also a space for you to begin telling your story. We will explore what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain, and any expectations or concerns you may have. Together, we’ll begin to establish a therapeutic contract that reflects your needs and goals.

You are welcome to go at your own pace; there is no expectation to share more than you feel ready to. My intention is to create a calm, respectful, and supportive space where you feel safe to begin this journey.
