Often, the struggles that bring people to therapy, such as anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, anger, guilt, questions around sexuality or identity, and the impact of childhood experiences, sit alongside deeper questions around self: who am I? What do I actually want? Why do I feel disconnected?
Central to my work is an interest in identity and authenticity - how we adapt in order to survive, belong, or care for others, and how parts of us can become hidden or silenced over time.
I believe meaningful change happens when you feel safe, seen and accepted. From that place, we can begin to understand what lies beneath the surface and gently reconnect with the parts of you that may have been pushed aside.
My approach is person-centred and relational. I don’t impose a fixed treatment plan; instead, I work alongside you from your unique starting point. I’m curious about your experience of life.
Together, we might explore the beliefs you hold about yourself, patterns in relationships, attachment dynamics and early experiences, the ways you’ve learned to cope, and the patterns that may no longer serve you.
Alongside careful exploration, I offer gentle psychological insight where helpful. We may also work more experientially - paying attention to what you’re feeling in the moment, noticing bodily sensations, or using simple exercises to connect with parts of yourself that feel stuck or conflicted.
Over time, therapy can help you:
Feel more grounded and self-assured
Recognise and shift unhelpful patterns
Reconnect with your needs, feelings and values
Develop a kinder, more accepting relationship with yourself
As a mother of three, I have a lived understanding of how identity shifts across life stages and how easily we can set parts of ourselves aside while caring for others.
I offer sessions in person from my home on the border of Brighton and Hove, online, and in some cases outdoors through Nature-Based counselling.
Practice description
If you're facing challenges like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or feeling overwhelmed, you're not alone.
You might feel disconnected from you're true self, like you've lost your identity or are wearing a mask to meet others' expectations, all while suppressing your own feelings. Maybe you're feeling stuck, lonely, or lacking direction, and it's hard to pinpoint why.
Seeking support can be tough, especially when life feels overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. I offer a compassionate, reflective space to pause and make sense of your emotions, moving at your own pace.
As a Humanistic counsellor, I work holistically, focusing on you as a whole person rather than just a set of problems. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful change, and feeling heard, seen, and accepted is essential to healing.
I use a blend of approaches, including Gestalt techniques, mindfulness, and creative tools - particularly helpful when words are hard to find. Gestalt therapy helps raise awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in the present, making it easier to reconnect with yourself and move forward.
I also have a strong interest in identity, meaning, and unconscious patterns, which shapes my reflective approach to help you better understand yourself.
Alongside my private practice, I've worked within the NHS, volunteered with Samaritans, and currently support young people in high-support accommodation.
Outside of counselling, I'm a mother of three with a passion for meditation, Buddhism, and fitness - practices that emphasise the connection between mind and body, balance, and self-awareness.
I offer one-to-one, confidential counselling sessions both in-person in Hove and online, depending on your needs.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call, during which we can determine if we're a good match for each other.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length, either online or from my home in Hove, and are held weekly.
