About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Polly Hollister, I offer short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, both face-to-face in Oxfordshire and online across the UK.

I provide a warm, confidential, non-judgemental space to help you explore and untangle the challenges you’re facing. Together, we will work through the doubts, memories or fears that hold you back, helping you to grow in self-awareness and acceptance. In the most difficult times of grief or hurt, I walk with you and support you to express, explore and understand your feelings and experiences.

Sessions are 50 minutes and the work we do is tailored to your unique needs. The way I work is through exploration and in relationship with you. I do not set tasks or instruct you on what to do or what to think or feel.

We may sometimes use tools or exercises to help you explore certain areas, always depending on what works for you.

Some sessions may be emotional, some difficult and some joyful. In all, we are working within your perspective.

Practice description

I use three main modalities: Person-centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, and incorporate other areas including attachment theory and polyvagal theory. I undertake continuing professional development to expand my knowledge and skills.

Following my background in psychology at work, I completed 4 years of specialised training (study and client experience) with the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body), and a certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling with Counselling Tutor.
