About me and my therapy practice
How I work
My approach combines a range of therapeutic models, including cognitive and behavioural therapies and humanistic approaches, which are tailored to your unique needs and experiences.
Therapy is my second career having worked for many years in financial services. I know from experience the difficulties of corporate life and the accompanying feelings of stress, overwhelm and burnout.
The integrative model I work with enables me to draw together different theories. I work with what is happening in the here and now but also looking back to past experiences and patterns of behaviour. I believe that early attachment relationships continue to play a big part in the relationships that we form.
Another aspect which underpins my work are the ideas of existential philosophy - the belief that we are each faced with the task of making meaning in our lives, particularly in the face of uncertainty, change, or suffering.
Practice description
I know life can feel complicated and overwhelming at times, and reaching out for support can take a lot of vulnerability. It can be hard to navigate difficult emotions and feelings, and it can be incredibly lonely when you feel misunderstood or unheard.
... But with the right support so much can be achieved.
I'm an integrative therapist with a Masters in Psychotherapy and a Registered member of the Â鶹Դ´. I work with adults (18+) navigating a wide range of issues, including:
• Trauma and the lasting impact of difficult experiences
• Low self-esteem, self-doubt, and inner criticism
• Major life transitions – menopause, separation
• Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm (burnout)
• Neurodiversity – ADHD.
Life becomes even harder to cope with when anxiety or self-doubt take hold, and friendships or relationships can start to feel challenging as well.
Therapy can help to untangle the confusion and provide a relationship that feels safe and non-judgemental. My therapeutic approach is to establish a solid working relationship where we can together explore the experiences and sources of distress.
