About me and my therapy practice
I am an Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Psychologist with over 14 years of dedicated service within the NHS and in private practice.
Having trained at the world leading Tavistock Clinic in London, I specialise in psychodynamic psychotherapy, a psychoanalytic approach. I provide expert therapeutic support to individuals with emotional difficulties and/or mental health conditions, with compassion and professionalism.
I offer weekly and twice weekly psychotherapy sessions which last 50 minutes each and take place at the same time every week. In these sessions, I offer a safe and reliable space for us to work together on making sense of the difficulties in your life and the patterns that might be hindering your development. Part of this work involves understanding how past experiences have shaped how you feel about yourself and others today, which subsequently provides an opportunity for change.
I have contributed valuable insights to the field of mental health and psychoanalysis through my publications (e.g., in the British Journal of Psychiatry 2016), exploring key topics such as clinical best practice, ADHD from a psychoanalytic point of view and the concept of feeling valued in a clinical setting.
Practice description
I offer private psychotherapy for adults at various locations in London: in South East London (Denmark Hill), Central London (Bloomsbury) and North London (Swiss Cottage). I can provide sessions in English and in German.
In addition to my private practice, I currently work at the award-winning Adult Psychotherapy Service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

- Psychotherapy Department at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK

- Sigmund Freud Institute, Frankfurt, Germany
- Clinic For Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy, Agaplesion Elisabethenstift, Darmstadt, Germany
- Alfred Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Melbourne, Australia
Accreditation and Â鶹Դ´:
- Full member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (TSP)
- Full member of The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
- Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´, MÂ鶹Դ´)
- Full member of the British Psychological Society (BPS, GMBPsS)
Training and Qualifications:
- German Psychology Degree (Dipl.-Psych.), specialising in clinical psychology
- Inter-cultural psychodynamic psychotherapy, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust
- Foundations of psychodynamic psychotherapy, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust
My first session
It takes a lot of courage to make the first step towards getting help for your emotional difficulties and you might have lots of questions and anxieties about what psychotherapy is really like.
Once you get in touch with me, I offer a free 15-minute phone call to get to know each other briefly and talk about some practicalities.
Following this, I offer an initial consultation period of 2-4 sessions. These sessions are 50 minutes long.
The first consultations are important for both sides - for you to see if you feel like you are 'in the right place' and if the 'chemistry feels right', and for me as the therapist to collect some diagnostic material, i.e. to ask you some questions about your difficulties and your present and past life to establish whether psychotherapy is indicated.
If you decide to take up the offer of psychotherapy, we would then start with the treatment, i.e. weekly sessions at the same time each week.
