About me and my therapy practice
My counselling style is plain speaking and relaxed, I adapt and use tools to help us both understand you and your story. Your sessions are for you to guide me through your difficulties at your own pace, you are in control and we work together to figure out what will help. If you're feeling there are parts of you that you don't understand, you feel anger, hurt and upset by things that you have had to face and feel alone, no one gets it, I get it, I too have felt like this and I can be here with you to help you figure it out or just to be heard, to be seen.
I sometimes use tools to help us to open up the conversation when this feels difficult, using images, doodling and various creative techniques, if this feels right for you , with permission I may bring this into our work together. I also offer EFT (Tapping) and am a qualified practitioner.
We will look together at the things that are holding you back, weighing heavy and work out where to start to move towards feeling better, to being the person you want to be.
I can help you make changes from feeling overwhelmed, overloaded and stuck to moving towards living a full and happy life again. You've made the first step by stopping by.
Practice description
I offer online sessions and soon will have more in person availability. Home visits are also considered on a person by person basis.
You might be here because you are Neurodivergent, newly diagnosed , self diagnosed and looking to understand yourself or a loved one better. My own lived experiences, of being Neurodivergent, Anxiety, Depression , low mood , mental health issues, both professionally and personally, enable me to offer you genuine empathy and understanding without judgement. We are both human beings who have made mistakes and have found life hard at times, I feel it’s important to connect and use that knowledge to explore the issues you choose to bring. I work in a trauma informed way keeping you safe throughout.
I trained as a counsellor following my own personal experiences with mental health and it’s overwhelming affects. I found that Therapy can help unravel the issues and gain more control in life, finding all the threads that connect to make sense of who we are and why we feel the way we do.
My first session
You can book a free introduction call, over the telephone or video call, this helps us to see if I am the right person for you and you can hear about what I can offer. You will find someone who is both professional, warm and friendly. I will listen to what is overwhelming you and we will see if you feel I can help. You can book a session straight away or take some time to think about it.
Once our work begins, I will take some information for my records and we will begin to get to know each other. You will soon find although I am professional, I am also just a regular person with my own little quirks, and most definitely not perfect. I wont bombard you with technical words or theory, instead I will listen to your story and offer a relaxed, no pressure space for you to explore your feelings. Together we will make a plan that you are in control of, I usually suggest 12 sessions is the average amount clients attend, but if you would like less or more, we can decide what is right for you.
