About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified, MÂ鶹Դ´ registered Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor with adults and young adults over the age of 18. My practice includes work with parents.
My background is in social work having been a social worker with care experienced young people and their families for the past decade.
I offer counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can feel supported to make sense of, and process what feels difficult in your life right now.
My training is in Gestalt psychotherapy which values the exploration of emotions in a relational context. Through the holding space of our therapeutic relationship, I can support you to become aware of and work through unconscious and repeating patterns and unresolved issues which might be holding you back or making you feel stuck.
Gestalt psychotherapeutic counselling can help with increasing self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance, enabling you to experience your life with greater ease, choice and joy.
I work with a wide range of issues including stress, burnout, anxiety, parenting, addiction, depression, relationship issues, family issues, reparenting self, identity issues, domestic and emotional abuse and bereavement and loss
Specialist focus areas:
Alongside my work with individuals I offer parent sessions for people to explore and work through worries and concerns about their children. I have experience with a wide range of presenting needs and behaviours including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), neuro-diversity, anxiety, impacts of social media and screen use, sibling rivalry and separation or divorce.
I have a particular interest in women's issues including menstrual-cycle awareness, pre and post-natal life changes, Matrescence, and peri-menopause and menopause.
Practice description
In our work together I will welcome and accept you as a unique individual and meet you where you are in your life now, working at a pace which feels comfortable for you.
My approach is trauma-informed, exploring thoughts and feelings in the present moment, with attention to body-based communications as messengers for what may be unspoken. I am also influenced by compassion-focused therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and inner child work which can be particularly supportive when working with a strong inner critic and/or feelings of shame.
My Cambridge practice is based at Cambridge Counselling Service.

My first session
I recommend two initial consultation sessions where we collaboratively explore what’s bringing you to therapy now, some family history and functioning, what you hope to gain from our work together, as well as providing you with a chance to understand more about how Gestalt therapy works.

Sessions are usually once a week for 50 minutes.
