About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel heavy at times. You might be feeling overwhelmed - too much to juggle and not enough space to breathe. Maybe your thoughts are going round and round, and you focus on what's going wrong or what you think you "should" be doing better. This can leave you feeling stuck, anxious, low in confidence. You may be trying to keep everything together - family, work, relationships and other responsibilities - while feeling emotionally drained. Perhaps you feel you are holding things together on the outside, but inside you are struggling with self-doubt, worry, or strong emotions that are hard to manage.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different counselling approaches so that we can work in a way that feels right for you and your unique situation. I believe that a genuine, trusting counselling relationship can bring about meaningful change.

Practice description

I offer a calm and supportive space where you can talk openly and be heard without judgment. I really listen to what you are going through and together we can slow things down and look at your thoughts and feelings. We can explore problems gently, talk things through and look at different ways of understanding what you are going through.

I am naturally empathic and compassionate, and this is reflected in my counselling style. Having someone to really listen can bring about change and empowerment. Sometimes it helps to just say things out loud, other times it helps to see things from another angle. The challenges may still be there, but you can face them with clarity and confidence and more self - awareness.

I value the courage it takes to acknowledge feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or simply a sense that life has become too much.

Finding a counsellor you trust is so important. It can take courage to ask for help - I offer an initial 20 minute phone call for us to talk and explore what your needs are.

Get in touch with me if you would like to talk this through further.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can get to know each other a little and see if I am the right counsellor for you. This is a chance for you to share what’s bringing you to counselling and to ask any questions you may have about how I work, without any pressure to commit.

If you decide you would like to go ahead, our first counselling session will be a gentle, welcoming space for us to get to know each other further. We will talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like to get out of our sessions, and any hopes or concerns you may have. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and we will go at your pace. It’s completely normal to feel nervous, and there is no expectation for you to have everything figured out. This first session is about beginning to build a trusting, safe space where you can feel heard and supported.
