About me and my therapy practice
I’m Jodie, a Psychotherapist based in Mumbles, Swansea. Life presents challenges, disappointments, and difficult phases that can shake our resilience. As a humanistic psychotherapist, my aim is to support you in processing these tough emotions and help you reconnect with your inner resources. Together, we can work towards emotional health and, ultimately, a happier life.
My approach centers on traditional talking therapy, offering you a safe and confidential space to express your thoughts and feelings openly. If finding the right words proves challenging, I am also open to incorporating creative tools or props to help explore difficult emotions. My goal is to use whatever methods work best to support your healing and growth.
If this approach resonates with you and you’d like to explore working together, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call, giving us a chance to get to know each other and for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy. This also allows us to see if I can be of support to you.
Practice description
I'm a Humanistic Psychotherapist offering 50- or 90-minute sessions from my peaceful garden therapy room. There's a convenient parking space available—and you can take a look at the space in the photo.
My first session
Our first session is really a chance for us to get to know each other a little. It gives me the opportunity to understand what’s brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping we might explore or achieve together.
We’ll go through the 'Client Agreement' (sometimes known as the 'client contract'), which covers some of the practical bits—like confidentiality and a few admin essentials. After that, we’ll have time to talk about how life is feeling for you right now, what kind of support you currently have, and any hopes or goals you might have for therapy.
If, by the end of our time together, you feel comfortable and happy to continue, I’ll have a printed copy of the contract ready for you to sign, and we can arrange your next session.
For those who feel that 50 minutes might feel a little short, I also offer 90-minute sessions to give us more space to explore things at a gentler pace. Sessions are £55 for 50 minutes and £85 for 90 minutes.
