About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and welcome
My approach is grounded in empathy, respect and authenticity. I work collaboratively, taking time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard and understood. As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches to suit your individual needs, including person-centred, psychodynamic and somatic perspectives. This means we might focus on your present-day experiences, explore past patterns, or work with the connection between your emotional and physical wellbeing — depending on what feels most helpful for you.
My background includes nursing, health promotion and therapeutic bodywork, which has given me a deep appreciation of the mind-body connection and the many ways we hold and process our experiences. I bring this understanding into my work gently and respectfully, always led by what feels right for you.
Whether you're facing a specific challenge, struggling with difficult emotions, or looking to understand yourself better, I offer a space to explore at your own pace. I work with adults on a short- or long-term basis, both in person from my private practice in Strathaven and online.
Practice description
I have experience working with a range of issues, including trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, life changes, and grief. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or simply unsure where to start, I’ll walk alongside you at your pace, supporting you to better understand yourself and make sense of your experiences.
As a new practitioner, I bring fresh insight, genuine curiosity, and a deep commitment to building a trusting, therapeutic relationship. You're the expert on your life—I'm here to support you in finding clarity, resilience, and a greater sense of self.
I offer sessions from the comfort of my private home practice, as well as online, to ensure accessibility and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
If anything here resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thank you for stopping by.
My first session
What to Expect in Your First Session
Before committing to therapy, I offer a free 20-minute phone or online appointment. This is a chance for us to briefly connect, for you to ask any questions, and to get a feel for whether working together feels right for you—no pressure, no obligation.
If you decide to move forward, our first full session will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little more. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy and what you might like to gain from it, while also going at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
As part of the assessment process, I may invite you to complete a brief questionnaire called the CORE-OM 34 (Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation – Outcome Measure). This is a widely used tool that helps us to get a snapshot of your emotional wellbeing at the start of therapy. It can also be a helpful way to track your progress over time, but it's always your choice whether you'd like to complete it.
Above all, that first session is about creating a safe and supportive space for you to begin your journey—where you feel heard, respected, and in control.
