Hi I'm Lin,
Thank you for looking at my profile.
I am passionate about working with women of all ages and phases of life. I work in Central Winchester in-person, easy to access from the town or station. I also work with women online from different areas in the UK.
I work with all issues a woman may bring, but I have a special interest and training in bereavement including baby and infant loss, miscarriage, fertility issues and IVF, peri-menopause and menopause
I support women going through various life stages and challenges they may encounter from young adulthood to old age.
About me and my therapy practice
I have over twenty years experience working one-to-one with clients in a healthcare setting. I find this clinical background is helpful when working therapeutically with clients.
I have been a bereavement volunteer for Cruse for several years and I am an accredited member of The Foundation of Infant Loss, having undergone their training. I have also volunteered my counselling skill in a charity providing long term counselling to women.
Studies have proven that women are more likely to struggle with generalised anxiety and depression during peri-menopause and menopause. This hormonal transition often collides with life changes such as children leaving home or ageing parents. Women in this phase can feel overwhelmed and confused about their body changes and role in the family or society at large. I help women to reflect and understand why the menopause maybe triggering emotions around relationships or bringing up buried issues they could previously ignore.
Whether we work in-person or online I will hold a compassionate space for you. Through a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship you can learn different ways of relating to yourself and others, bringing greater self awareness and understanding. As an integrative therapist I incorporate theoretical interventions to help you make more sense of your thoughts and feelings, I draw on Person-Centred theory, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, TA, and CBT, tailoring to the needs of my client. I also use creative interventions and mindfulness/body awareness.
Practice description
I work with women of all ages in Central Winchester in a room close to transport links and the town. I also work with many clients online. In exceptional circumstances I have done a home-vists.
I provide short focussed sessions for people who want just a short spell of counselling. I also work with many clients long term.
My first session
In this first session we explore the reason you have come for counselling, what your expectations are and how we can work together. You can ask me any questions and talk about any fears or concerns that you might have.
I have a non judgmental and inclusive approach and I hope to offer every woman respect, honesty and understanding.
I understand life's challenges can leave us feeling very alone. Reaching out can feel overwhelming and even scary. I will always reply to enquiries within 24 hours, and I offer a free online or phone chat so you can see if I'm right for you without any commitment.
