About me and my therapy practice

There are times in life when we can feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or no longer quite like ourselves. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, the impact of past experiences, or facing a significant life transition, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences.

I work with adults, children and young people, offering a warm, collaborative and reflective space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we'll develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and the patterns that may be shaping your life.

As an integrative counsellor, my work is informed by humanistic and existential perspectives, recognising that each person's experiences, relationships and values are unique. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches where appropriate, always keeping your individual needs and goals at the centre of our work together.

Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting adults, children and young people across charity and private practice settings. My experience includes supporting people recovering from sexual trauma, those affected by domestic abuse and coercive or controlling relationships, as well as people navigating significant emotional and relational challenges. I have also undertaken specialist post-qualifying training in counselling children and young people, which continues to inform my work with children, adolescents and their parents and carers.

Practice description

I believe therapy is a bridge between where you are now and where you would like to be. It offers a space to pause, reflect and better understand yourself, especially during times when life feels confusing, overwhelming or uncertain.

Every person brings their own experiences, relationships and way of seeing the world. Rather than offering quick answers, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected and supported to explore whatever has brought you to therapy. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, recognise patterns that may no longer be serving you and work towards meaningful change.

When working with children and young people, I recognise that they may communicate differently from adults. Depending on their age and needs, sessions may include creative and developmentally appropriate ways of working to support expression, emotional understanding and self-awareness. Where appropriate, I work collaboratively with parents and carers while keeping the young person’s wellbeing, trust and confidentiality at the centre of the work.

I have a particular interest in supporting people navigating cultural identity, belonging and the experience of living between cultures. Whether you have moved to the UK, grown up between cultures, or are balancing different cultural values and expectations, therapy can offer a space to explore these experiences with curiosity and understanding.

My first session

Before arranging a first appointment, I offer a free 15-minute telephone or online consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and consider whether working together feels like the right fit.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the process, and any relevant aspects of your current circumstances. There is no expectation to share everything straight away, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

If you are seeking counselling for your child or young person, the process may begin with an initial consultation with a parent or carer. This allows us to explore your concerns, consider whether counselling is appropriate, and discuss how we can best support your child while placing their wellbeing, trust and confidentiality at the centre of the therapeutic work.

Towards the end of our first session, we'll reflect together on whether we both feel comfortable continuing to work together. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and I encourage you to take the time you need to decide whether I am the right fit for you.
