About me and my therapy practice
Well done for getting to here. Things can be better than they are today.
Feeling anxious and depressed? Constantly juggling and spinning too many plates? Feeling invisible, taken for granted and overwhelmed?
As a Â鶹Դ´ registered integrative counsellor in private practice I offer short and long-term therapy for adults in-person, online and by telephone. I have almost 2 years of experience working on a weekly basis for my local NHS Talking Therapy Service.
My fundamental priority is to create a space for you to feel safe. I strive to work with cultural attunement. I value, respect, celebrate and welcome diversity and difference. I am committed to working with humility, empathy and with compassion.
I invite you to deepen your curiosity, explore your thoughts and feelings no matter how complex or painful they might be.
I am particularly interested in our early attachments; how these inform our current relationships and how we communicate with those that we love.
Integrative therapy is flexible and adaptive responding to your needs and the problems and concerns you choose to bring to our sessions. At the heart of integrative therapy is the collaborative relationship between us. We work together, yet you are the expert on you. Our work is often underpinned by a blend of psychodynamic, attachment-based and humanistic approaches.
Perhaps you have a parent with dementia and are struggling to cope? Are you finding communication with your partner difficult? Do you crave more freedom and independence? Or perhaps you yearn for more emotional connection or intimacy? Maybe you are experiencing workplace bullying or burnout?
Having worked as an English teacher in an inner city school for 25 years I fully understand the immense strain of scrutiny and stress in the workplace. Now, having made the huge decision to embrace a change of direction and retrain, I am fully committed to supporting my adult and older adult clients through therapy.
Practice description
What do I offer?
I offer you 50 uninterrupted minutes a week of sensitive, supportive and non-judgemental integrative therapy either in-person or online or by telephone.
In-person appointments take place in my calm room five minutes walk from Clapham Junction train station, London, SW11.
We work together to explore the thoughts, feelings and emotions evoked in mind and body as well as noticing your life patterns and attachments as you share your story.
My wish for you is that our therapeutic work will encourage you to enhance your curiosity, help you to feel more self-aware, self-accepting and more secure.
My first session
Once you contact me I reply very promptly. I offer a free no obligation 15-minute telephone conversation providing you with the opportunity to share your hopes and expectations of therapy and for me to answer any questions you have. We will then take it from there. If you feel comfortable to move forward, we will book our first appointment.
We work at your pace.
Our first session will provide you with the space and time to share the concerns, issues or problems troubling you. I will listen to you and walk beside you offering my support as you take these first steps in beginning to restore and renew your well-being.
I look forward to hearing from you.
