About me and my therapy practice
Well done for getting to here.
Things can be better than they are today.
Feeling anxious and depressed? Constantly juggling and spinning too many plates? Feeling invisible, taken for granted and overwhelmed? Perhaps you have a parent with dementia and feel the burden and responsibility of organising their care? Are you finding communication with your partner difficult? Do you crave more freedom and independence? Or are you yearning for more emotional connection or intimacy? Maybe you are deeply unhappy navigating a gaslighting culture at work? Do you charge about (heart racing) addressing the needs of everyone else before your own?
Having worked as an English teacher in an inner-city school for 25 years I fully understand the relentless strain, scrutiny and stress of a pressurised workplace - and the impact this has on our mental and physical health. Now, having made the huge decision to embrace a change of direction and retrain, I am fully committed to supporting my adult and older adult clients through therapy.
As a Â鶹Դ´ registered integrative counsellor in private practice I offer short and long-term therapy for adults in-person, online and by telephone. I have almost 2 years of experience working on a weekly basis for my local NHS Talking Therapy Service.
Integrative therapy is flexible and adaptive. You choose the problems, issues and concerns to bring to our sessions. At the heart of integrative therapy is the collaborative relationship between us. We work together, yet you are the expert on you. Our work may often be guided by a combination of attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches.
It is my priority is to create for you a place of safety. I value, respect, celebrate and welcome diversity and difference. I am committed to working with humility, empathy and with compassion.
Practice description
I offer you 50 minutes a week of supportive and non-judgemental integrative therapy either in-person or online or by telephone.
In-person appointments take place in my calm room a few minutes walk from Clapham Junction train station, London, SW11.
We work together to explore the thoughts, feelings and emotions evoked in both your mind and body as well as notice your life patterns and attachments as you begin to unfold your story.
My wish is that our work encourages you to enhance your curiosity and helps you to feel more self-aware, more self-accepting, self-compassionate and more secure.
My first session
Once you have contacted me I aim to reply promptly. I offer a free no obligation 15-minute telephone conversation providing you with the opportunity to share your hopes and expectations of therapy and for me to answer any questions you may have. We then take it from there. If you feel comfortable to move forward, we will book our first appointment.
We work at your pace.
During our first session I will ask you to share some initial information about you. You will have the the space, time and opportunity at our first meeting to share the concerns, issues or emotional wounds that are troubling you. I will listen and offer my support as you take these first brave steps in beginning to restore and renew your well-being.
I look forward to hearing from you.
