About me and my therapy practice
My sessions, are welcoming, with empathy, understanding, and a willingness to listen to your story, whatever that may be. I offer no judgment, advice or opinion of your situation. There is no expectation from me for you to commit to a set number of sessions, I am guided by your needs and decisions.
Clients may be hesitant at accessing counselling, as they feel unsure of how to express themselves or how to be fully understood.
I support clients across a wide range of neurodiversity and mental health spectrums, including ADHD, autism, sensory sensitivity, mood, anxiety, gender, and identity spectrums. My clients who are Neurodiverse have the space and freedom to express themselves freely, without masking or conforming to the exceptions of behaviour by others.
"I support neurodiversity in all its forms." Everyone's experience, and traits are valid, and very welcome here.
As you begin to disclose your reasons for counselling, I will listen with empathy and focus. Your perspective, emotions, and how you chose to express them is your choice.Together, we work gently on how to express your thoughts and feeling more concisely and clearly. As sessions progress you can consider your thoughts and feelings, including your boundaries, expectations, and your relationships with others.
New self awareness can help you build confidence, self-acceptance, and a stronger sense of self-worth. This awareness can create a more detailed understanding of your past and present life experiences, and how they shape and form who you are, and how you interact with others.
I also support people living with high-functioning distress, trauma, or prolonged stress. Hyper-vigilance and overwhelming feelings can leave someone feeling constantly 鈥渙n edge.鈥
Healthy communication is another area I often explore with clients. Many have experienced communication that felt manipulative, judgmental, or silencing. Relationship can bring love and connection, but also challenge and conflict.
Practice description
Counselling is a space for those who need someone to truly listen to their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, and to accept them without judgment, opinion, or unwanted advice. My role is to offer compassion, empathy, and understanding, while supporting you at the pace and level of disclosure that feels right for you.
Counselling can be helpful whether you鈥檙e facing specific challenges, or simply want to better understand yourself. You can talk about anything you choose. As your confidence in expressing yourself grows, you may decide to explore different concerns, or reflect on situations that have shaped you, but only if and when you feel ready.
Therapy is not about quick fixes. It鈥檚 about engaging in the process, showing up, for yourself, not others, and allowing yourself to focus, and being open to the possibility of change.
Even if others have encouraged you to attend, counselling only works if it feels right for you, and if you鈥檙e ready to engage in your own way. Clients also come to therapy unsure of what feels 鈥渨rong,鈥 but with a sense that something isn鈥檛 right.
You may feel overwhelmed, confused, powerless, or disconnected from yourself and others. Together, we explore these feelings in a safe, confidential environment, where there is no pressure to share more than you are ready for. It鈥檚 common for clients to say things like, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 want to go there yet鈥 or 鈥淚鈥檓 not ready鈥濃攁nd that鈥檚 completely okay. You choose what to bring into the session, and when.
Sessions are an opportunity to be fully yourself鈥攗nfiltered and unapologetic. They can be a space to cry, laugh, reflect, or simply sit with your emotions. Over time, you may discover new ways to connect with yourself and others, develop healthier coping strategies, and build stronger boundaries. Most importantly, counselling can offer you a safe place to be truly heard and accepted.
My first session
The initial no cost consultation, lasts for up to 30minutes ( I am guided by you) and is a relaxed and informal opportunity for us both to meet and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. It鈥檚 a chance to ask questions, talk through what brings you to counselling, and see how the process might support you.
There is no pressure, no goal-setting, and no homework. You are under no obligation to commit to a set number of sessions in advance. Instead, you are free to decide what feels comfortable for you, whether that鈥檚 just giving counselling a try or choosing to continue with regular sessions.
My priority in this first conversation is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can explore whether counselling is the right step for you at this time.
If you decide to that you are ready to begin counselling sessions we will discuss your choice of time and day that is suitable for your situation.
I will also explain a counselling agreement and privacy policy to you, this also includes the limits of confidentiality I am legally and morally bound to by the 麻豆原创.
