About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step toward counselling can feel like a big leap—I want to start by saying that it’s okay not to have all the answers right now. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply curious about what counselling might offer, you’re in the right place.
I’m a counsellor who works from an integrative approach, drawing especially from Person-Centred, Existential, and Gestalt therapies. What that means is I believe deeply in creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you can be truly heard—perhaps in a way you’ve never experienced before. I don’t see myself as the expert on your life. Instead, I trust that you hold the answers within you, and I’m here to walk alongside you as we explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences together.
The Person-Centred part of my work is all about relationship—real, human-to-human connection. I’ll offer you empathy, genuine presence, and acceptance, because I believe that healing and growth happen when we feel seen and valued for who we really are.
From an Existential perspective, I also understand that life can bring some big, often uncomfortable questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? Why do I feel lost? These are not problems to be fixed, but experiences to be explored. In our work together, we can sit with these questions—looking at the freedom and responsibility we have in shaping our lives, and the meaning we find (or seek) along the way.
The Gestalt approach adds a creative and embodied dimension to therapy. It invites us to look at what’s happening in the here and now—how you feel in your body, how you relate to others, and how unfinished experiences from the past may still be shaping your present. Sometimes we might use dialogue, role-play, or guided experiments to bring more awareness to your patterns and possibilities for change.
Practice description
I offer a calm, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely and at your own pace. My aim is to provide an environment in which you feel heard, respected, and understood — without judgment or pressure.
I work face to face in Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough, from comfortable, private rooms designed to help you feel at ease. Both locations are conveniently situated close to the local train stations, with nearby parking available. For those who prefer greater flexibility, I also offer online and telephone counselling, enabling you to access support from the comfort of your own home.
Whether you are seeking therapy for a specific concern or simply wish to deepen your self-understanding, I aim to provide a professional and compassionate service that supports your wellbeing and personal growth.
My first session
You don’t need to fit into any mould to begin this journey. You might be navigating anxiety, low self-worth, loss, relationship difficulties, major life transitions—or maybe you’re just feeling that something isn’t quite right and you don’t know why. That’s okay. This space is for you, just as you are.
