About me and my therapy practice

I'm a qualified integrative counsellor offering a safe, confidential and compassionate space to explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy. I work with a broad range of issues which include; bereavement and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, women's health related issues including perimenopause, menopause, pregnancy, postnatal period, pregnancy loss, infertility, chronic and terminal illness and family and parenting issues.  All issues you may wish to discuss are welcomed.

Practice description

There are times in all our lives that can feel challenging, painful, distressing or overwhelming to cope with. It might be that you are caught up in endless worrying, having painful memories of difficult past experiences, or you may need some support while going through a life transition. My approach is warm, gentle, collaborative and compassionate. I offer a calm, supportive, non-judgemental and inclusive space to explore whatever you would like to talk about, at a pace that is comfortable for you. Being an integrative counsellor means I draw on different theories to inform our work together. I trained at the Minster Centre, a leading Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling Institute, and am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In addition to my counselling training and experience I have a career spanning over 25 years as an NHS specialist public health nurse, where I have gained considerable experience working with issues related to pregnancy, pregnancy loss, supporting new parents and experienced parents with the care of their babies and children, and the challenges that can come with parenting and partner and family relationships. I also have a background in cancer nursing and palliative care.

I understand that it can be hard to take the first steps towards therapy. If you would like to explore working together I offer a free consultation by phone to talk about the kind of support you are seeking and answer any questions you may have. If you would like to book a call please get in touch by email: amanda.ann.bridge@gmail.com

As a next step I can offer an initial appointment at a reduced fee of £45, for an opportunity to think together about what you would like to get from therapy, and to see if it would be useful for us to work together.
