About me and my therapy practice

If you are overwhelmed by stress, caught in overthinking, or feeling a sense of ‘what’s the point’, you do not have to carry this alone. In counselling, when two people connect without judgment, true change becomes possible.

I offer a safe, warm space where you can explore what brings you to therapy at your own pace. Once you feel secure enough to voice what has been left unsaid, you can begin to find clarity and insight. In our sessions, what is happening for you right now is what matters. Together, we will look at what is driving your distress, explore the emotions underneath, and help you find your way forward.

Here are some of the core experiences and presentations I regularly see in my practice:

Neurodiversity & Autism: Warm, affirming support for neurodivergent adults, including Autism, ADHD, late diagnosis, or the profound exhaustion of masking in a neurotypical world.

Anxiety, Overthinking & Burnout: Space to slow down, regulate your nervous system, and untangle chronic overthinking, panic, or workplace depletion.

Outdated Habits, Compulsions & 12-Step Recovery: Non-judgmental support for unwanted habits. I bring over 20 years of personal familiarity with 12-step communities and recovery spaces, welcoming people in recovery, Al-Anon/ACA dynamics, or those exploring their relationship with habits.

Grief, Bereavement & Life Shifts: Gentle, steady companionship through loss, relationship breakdowns, and major life changes.

Ex-Pat & Cultural Transitions: Navigating identity shifts, dislocation, homesickness, and the unique psychological challenges of living or working abroad.

I work completely online, offering confidential therapy from the comfort of your own space. Sessions are typically one hour per week, but this is flexible to meet your needs.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but I am here to make it simple. Please contact me via email or phone to arrange an initial meeting so we can see how we might work together.

Practice description

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist.

Before establishing my private practice, I worked as a counsellor in colleges and recovery centres. I currently provide counselling for Red Rose Recovery, Kendal College, and Physicians Anonymous—a peer-support network for doctors facing burnout, stress, and related challenges.

https://physiciansanonymous.org/coaches-and-mentors/

My approach is person-centred and informed by EFT and motivational interviewing.

• Motivation for change: Using a collaborative, goal-oriented style, we’ll work together to uncover the reasons for change that seem most pertinent to you.

• Understanding the root: We will explore your experiences in the present. You are the expert of your own inner life but I can help you to become more aware of your process.

• I walk beside you and that means we go at your own pace. You can expect to be met with respect, empathy and authenticity. Research shows that the relationship between client and counsellor is key. What happens between us will inform our work.
