About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, I am passionate about challenging the stigma that still surrounds mental health and therapy. I believe seeking support should never feel shameful, and as a person-centred therapist, I am committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and truly heard.
My work takes place in a beautiful, peaceful garden setting. The summerhouse provides clients with a calm, welcoming space where they can feel grounded and at ease.
Clients often share that I work in a warm, compassionate, and collaborative way. They appreciate my ability to listen deeply, which helps them feel truly heard and supports the development of a strong therapeutic relationship.
I encourage clients to move at a pace that feels right for them. Together, we explore their challenges, build resilience, and find clarity in discovering ways to move forward.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, depending on what best suits your needs.
Practice description
At Summerhouse Counselling, I understand how important it is to find the right therapeutic connection with your counsellor. That’s why I offer a complimentary 30-minute initial consultation, available in person, online, or by phone — whichever option feels most comfortable for you.
This session is a chance for you to ask questions, share a little about what has brought you to counselling, and get a sense of how I work. It also gives you the opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
My first session
In your first session, we will go through my working contract together. This can either be sent to you electronically in advance or read on the day 鈥 whichever feels most comfortable for you.
The session itself is informal and non-judgemental. You will be gently encouraged to share a brief overview of the issues bringing you to counselling, along with any questions or concerns you may have. This helps us begin to build a foundation of trust and ensures you feel comfortable with the process moving forward.
With many years of experience supporting clients through a wide range of life events and challenges 鈥 including anxiety, stress, depression, grief, loss, PTSD, and various forms of abuse 鈥 I will hold whatever dilemmas you bring with the utmost care, compassion, and respect.
