About me and my therapy practice

My practice is grounded in a person-centred and humanistic approach, meaning I see you as the expert on your own life. I offer empathy, authenticity, and respect, creating a safe space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard without judgement.

Our work together is collaborative and led by your needs and experiences. I’ll support you in exploring your thoughts, emotions, and patterns so that you can gain new perspectives, make sense of what feels difficult, and discover ways of coping and growing that feel right for you.

I also work in an integrative and relational way, drawing on ideas and techniques from other approaches when they may be helpful — for example, trauma-informed practice, mindfulness, or creative reflection. This allows the therapy to be flexible and responsive to your individual needs.

My aim is to help you increase self-understanding, strengthen your emotional wellbeing, and reconnect with your inner resources. I believe meaningful change happens when we feel accepted, understood, and supported in being ourselves.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important that you feel safe, respected, and understood. My practice offers a calm, supportive, and confidential space where you can take time to explore what’s happening in your life.

The sessions are collaborative and move at your pace. Sometimes this might mean gently exploring emotions, relationships, or experiences that feel unclear or painful. At other times, it may focus on developing insight, resilience, and a deeper sense of self-understanding.

I see therapy as a space for reflection and connection — a place to make sense of what you’re feeling, to be heard without judgement, and to begin discovering new ways forward.

I offer sessions in person, online, and by telephone. Therapy can be short-term, focused on a particular issue, or longer-term if you wish to explore things in greater depth. Together, we’ll find an approach that fits your needs and goals.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory session to help you decide whether therapy with me feels like the right fit. This is an informal, no-obligation conversation where you can share a little about what’s bringing you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of how I work.

If you choose to continue, we’ll arrange a full first session where we talk in more depth about what you’d like to focus on and how we can work together. We can also agree on the practical details such as session time, format (in person or online), and frequency.

This first meeting is about beginning to build trust and understanding, giving you space to decide if this feels like a supportive environment for you.
