About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can feel safe to talk openly, honestly and be met with understanding and respect. Beginning counselling can feel daunting, and I work at your pace to support you in making sense of what you are experiencing.
I am a Â鶹Դ´-registered counsellor and work in a trauma-informed way with a wide range of emotional difficulties, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, work-related stress, relationship issues, bereavement, confidence and self-esteem difficulties, and challenges linked to life transitions.
At the core of my practice is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which supports mindful awareness, self-compassion, and greater psychological flexibility. I work relationally and with an integrative approach, drawing on person-centred, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Rewind technique and existential approaches. This allows therapy to be tailored to your individual needs, while gently exploring how past experiences may be influencing your present. Together, we can work towards a way forward that feels supportive, meaningful, and right for you.
Practice description
My practice is remote, sessions completed via video, telephone or chat.
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length, offering a dedicated and supportive space to explore current thoughts, feelings, and experiences. When appropriate, I can suggest practical strategies or reflective exercises to support you outside of our sessions.
I am able to offer both long and short-term therapy to clients on a weekly or by-weekly basis.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether therapy feels right for you. It’s simply a chance to explore if my practice style is right for you.
If you do decide to book a first session I will send a reminder the day prior. If the session is via video this reminder will also feature the link to the session. Each session being 50 minutes long.
My aim in the first session is to help you feel comfortable, grounded and understood. You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly where to start; many people simply begin with what feels most present. The first session is not about going into everything at once. It’s about beginning a conversation, getting a feel for how we might work together, outlining your desired outcome and how we can build towards that.
