About me and my therapy practice

I welcome people who come to therapy for a variety of reasons.

As a qualified counsellor, I offer a calm, warm, non-judgemental space to talk, where we can work together to help you make sense of what is happening.

I can offer support if you feel...

-worried, stressed, stuck or lost

-you have repeating patterns of thinking or behaviour that cause confusion or pain

-you would like to know yourself better, explore your inner world, emotional world or sexual self

-you are experiencing a period of change

-you are processing grief, bereavement or loss

-you are having difficulty with relationships and attachment or family problems

Central to the way I work is the counselling relationship, where you are listened to with respect and understanding. This can provide a safe, consistent space.

I aim to accompany you with care and curiosity. My approach is gentle and patient but also very present and clear. I will do my best to help you think about your struggles and difficulties, vulnerabilities and strengths.

I am experienced in working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Practice description

My core training is Psychodynamic, so I am interested in past experiences and early relationships which influence us without us even knowing.

I like to work creatively; so I can offer an individual, supportive environment for us to work in a way which suits you. I believe that emotions can be expressed through the body and that the body, mind and emotions are connected.

I am also CBT trained and can integrate these techniques if appropriate.

I have experience working therapeutically with all age groups and have regular supervision with an accredited supervisor.

My private practice is situated in Patcham with free parking outside.

My first session

I invite you to contact me by phone or email for a free 15 minute conversation to see if I can help and if my approach sounds suitable for you.

We can then arrange our first session which will give you the opportunity to see if you feel able to work with me. We can explore what is bringing you to therapy at this time and what is troubling you.

Should we decide to proceed, I will offer a suitable time for us to meet, at the same time and day each week.

Sessions last for 50 minutes.
