About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Rebecca — a late-diagnosed autistic therapist offering counselling for autistic and neurodivergent women across the UK.
My work is grounded in person-centred values, which means I won’t give advice or tell you what to do — instead, I’ll support you to explore your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and find your own answers.
As an autistic woman myself, I have a deep understanding of how autism can present differently in women. I’m passionate about creating an affirming space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself. My sessions are stim-friendly, open-minded, and welcoming of self-diagnosis.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified Therapist with a BA Hons First Class Degree in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Warwick.
I specialise in working with issues like:
- Autistic identity and late diagnosis
- Burnout, overwhelm and masking
- Trauma and relational wounds
- Feeling different, disconnected or isolated
- Navigating life, work, or relationships as a neurodivergent person
My approach is warm, down-to-earth and trauma-informed. I often integrate gentle somatic (body-based) awareness where helpful, especially when working with trauma or sensory sensitivity.
I’ve previously worked in mental health crisis services and with women impacted by sexual violence, and I welcome clients with complex trauma backgrounds.
I do not diagnose autism, ADHD or other neurodivergence or mental health issues. However I welcome whatever diagnoses you may already have, and welcome and respect self-diagnosis. I can also support and assist you in pursuing a diagnosis if this is something you decide to do.
My first session
I offer an free initial 15 minute phone call to discuss what you are looking for from therapy and to see if we would be a good fit to work together.
In our first session we will explore your expectations for therapy and we will discuss the counselling contract and I will ask you some questions to fill in a short client assessment form.
