About me and my therapy practice
How I Work as a Psychotherapist
My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore whatever is on your mind — without fear of judgment. I work collaboratively, placing your individual needs, experiences, and goals at the centre of our work together.
I aim to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and authenticity, where you feel truly heard and understood. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, low mood, life transitions, or simply seeking greater clarity and self-awareness, our sessions will move at a pace that feels right for you.
Depending on your preferences and needs, I draw on a person-centred foundation while also integrating elements from other therapeutic approaches where appropriate. My focus is always on helping you reconnect with your inner resources and make sense of your experiences in a meaningful way.
Therapy is not about being told what to do it’s about being supported to find your own way forward, in your own time.
Practice description
What to Expect from Me as a Psychotherapist
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My aim is to create a calm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore whatever’s on your mind.
I work in a person-centred way, which means I’ll meet you where you are with empathy, honesty, and respect. You set the pace and decide what feels safe to share. I won’t offer quick fixes or advice, but I will walk alongside you, supporting you to better understand yourself and find your own way forward.
FAQs
What happens in the first session?
We’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. You can ask any questions, and there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to.
Do I have to talk about everything straight away?
No. Therapy moves at your pace. You share what you feel comfortable with, when you’re ready.
How long are sessions?
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually happen weekly. We can discuss what suits you best.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes I offer both online and face-to-face sessions. Some clients prefer to mix the two.
What can I bring to therapy?
Anything. People come to therapy for anxiety, low mood, relationships, loss, trauma, or simply feeling stuck. You don’t need a specific reason having space to reflect can be valuable in itself.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, what you say is private. I’ll explain the few exceptions (like safety concerns) in our first session.
Is therapy right for me if I’ve never done it before?
Absolutely. Many clients are new to therapy. I’m here to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible.
