Availability
My hourly sessions are between 10am and 7.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I currently have availability for in-person or video link sessions.
Fully Immersive Therapy: Your stay will be from Friday to Friday with five 90 minute sessions over five days.
I am based in rural West Wales just 1 mile from Cardigan and can offer you sessions outdoors in nature with seating in a private woodland overlooking a stream, in my garden or in my lovely Garden Room, which provides a comfortable and light filled space - whichever environment you prefer for us to work together during your therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
If you're looking to escape the chaos or distractions of home and work, I offer a 'fully immersive therapy' experience incorporating five 90-minute sessions into a 7 night stay at my hand-built cabin retreat beside a stream in meadow surrounded by trees.
As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist in my 60’s, I bring a wealth of life experience, a commitment to ongoing learning and, I hope, a little wisdom. I trained with Cruse, the bereavement charity, and work as a Bereavement Volunteer alongside my private practice. I specialise in Grief and Loss which occurs during or as a consequence of so many life events, not only bereavement.
My clients have ranged from 18 to 78, each with their own specific challenges. A weekly client has kindly written and agreed for me to share their testimonial:
"I was at an all time low, feeling I had no control of anything. I’d spent my whole life being a ‘people pleaser’. Through the course of sessions I had with Linda, I realised, with her help and subtle guidance, that I could change my outlook and my behaviour could change the way I dealt with my perceived problems. By looking at situations from a different angle, being more positive and confident, I’m moving forward and looking towards a fulfilling future."
In addition to regular weekly sessions, I understand how crucial it can be to hit the pause button and escape from daily life for a short while. This plays an important role in creating lasting change.
The holistic approach of Adlerian Therapy together with the simplicity of 'The Den' set amongst peaceful woodland and nature, is central to the 'Fully Immersive Therapy' experience. Providing you with the opportunity to rest your body and mind, you'll gain a clearer vision of what’s truly important to you and together we can work towards achieving it. This could be described as the ultimate in self-care.

Practice description
At various points in our lives, many of us will face challenges and loss. These could be due to relationship struggles, divorce, bereavement, empty-nesting, financial concerns, menopause or work related issues. The symptoms may be stress, low self-esteem, anxiety or depression or perhaps feelings of being stuck, overlooked, overwhelmed or lack of purpose . These difficulties impact our mental wellbeing and physical health. However, as a psychodynamic therapist, I have worked with clients who have had life-changing results.
I chose to train in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy because of its positive, holistic approach. The Adlerian approach isn't new; it has been around for over a century. Together we focus on developing a deeper understanding of your feelings by exploring your long-held values and beliefs and resulting behavioural patterns. I will be supporting and encouraging you as you gain insight into why you do what you do and the decisions you've made, helping you to consider more helpful perspectives and make positive, constructive choices. I work alongside you to help you achieve your goals, leaving you empowered to be the person you want to be and create the life you deserve.
Whether we’re seeing each other weekly in-person or via video link (you may find my West Wales hourly rate is less than you can find locally!) or while you’re taking advantage of my Immersive Therapy Retreat @ Den by the Stream, we will work at a pace you’re comfortable with, giving you the opportunity to speak freely and in confidence.
If you’d like to know a little more about me and my background, please .
As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´), you can trust that I adhere to high ethical standards and professional practice.
My first session
The first step is to get in touch with me. I understand it’s the hardest and most courageous part of your therapeutic journey.
You can contact me by email, text or phone, leaving the details of how and when I can get in touch and some options of what time is convenient for you. If you phone or text and I'm unable to answer immediately, do please leave your name and a brief message. I’m usually able to respond within a few hours.
During our first chat we’ll arrange a time for an assessment via video link and there’s no cost for this. This is also a good time to bring up any queries or concerns you might have. Afterwards you can decide whether you feel we’re a good fit and let me know if you want to go ahead with making arrangements for our first session.
The first session involves some necessary admin and an agreement between us of when and how we’ll work together.
