About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding it hard to manage:
Anxiety, depression, low self-worth, sensory challenges, emotional regulation, parenting, relationships, life transitions, trauma, or intersectional experiences?
Hello, I’m April.
With lived experience of neurodivergence, I bring empathy, insight, and warmth to the therapeutic space.
This personal perspective informs a respectful, client-centred approach that honours different ways of thinking and being.
I specialise in supporting:
- Neurodivergent adults (with or without formal diagnosis)
- Adults adjusting to a late diagnosis of ADHD or Autism
- Individuals beginning to explore their own neurotype
- Parents or carers of neurodivergent and SEN children
Please note: I work exclusively with adults aged 18 and over.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to access support.
My aim is to offer a warm, neuroaffirmative space where you feel heard, understood, and supported to explore both the challenges and strengths of your experience.
Sessions are available in person in East Bristol (BS15) or online across the UK.
Every journey through neurodivergence is unique.
If you’re walking this path for yourself or someone you care about - you’re not alone. I’m here to listen and walk alongside you.

- Person-Centred - A non-judgemental space where you feel fully heard and valued.
- Psychodynamic - Exploring how past experiences may shape the present.
- Gestalt - Focusing on the here and now to support self-awareness.
- Body Psychotherapy - Honouring the connection between mind and body.
- Trauma-Informed Practice - Prioritising safety, trust, and empowerment.
Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship rooted in respect, authenticity, and care.
Practice description
Through exploring my own neurotype and supporting neurodivergent family members, I’ve gained invaluable firsthand insight into the unique joys, challenges, and perspectives that neurodiversity brings.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of how neurodivergence can shape communication, relationships, and daily life, and have instilled a lasting respect for the individuality and resilience of those I support.
Combined with my professional training, this lived experience enables me to offer a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel safe to explore their strengths, challenges, and aspirations at their own pace.
I work with adults who have received a late diagnosis of ADHD or Autism and understand the complex emotions that can accompany that process - relief, grief, confusion, and self-discovery. I also support SEN parents navigating the demands and rewards of raising a neurodivergent child, offering space for reflection, self-care, and connection.
Whether you're neurodivergent yourself or affected by neurodiversity in your relationships, I aim to support you with empathy and care that’s tailored to your experience.
Trained at Re-Vision, I work within an Integrative and Transpersonal framework, blending therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs. This includes supporting personal growth, emotional insight, and - where welcome - the spiritual dimension of life.
My first session
Available online or in person
This 50 minute session is a chance for us to meet and talk about what’s bringing you to counselling. We’ll explore your hopes, any concerns, and what you’re looking for from the process. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work, and for us both to consider whether we’re a good fit to work together. The aim is to begin building a foundation for a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
I’m usually able to offer an initial consultation within two weeks of your enquiry.
