About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Roya from Talking Art Studio.
You have perhaps come across my page while you're looking for a counsellor to support you through difficulties in life.
Maybe you struggle with low self confidence, and find it hard to reach your potential.
Perhaps you have suffered a bereavement and would like to speak to someone who can be with you in your grief, or you are struggling with a relationship that isn't working out the way you had hoped.
You are not alone, reaching out is often the hardest step but once you do, we can face this together.
Although I was born in Chatham, and only speak English; I am of mixed heritage, and I am culturally aware, and culturally sensitive, and I am able to get on with and relate to people from all different walks of life, religions and backgrounds.
Our confidential sessions will be in a calm counselling space in a local arts centre. I will listen to you without judgement and support you using traditional talking therapy, but have the facilities to use some creative activities if it feels helpful to you.
It is not about being *good* at art, or about being a creative person.
Using creative tools in therapy is another way for you to uncover deep emotions and express what you are feeling - especially when words don't come easily.
However, if creative work isn't for you, then we won't bring it into our sessions, it's so important that you feel comfortable
It's really important that you have someone you can trust, when sharing personal thoughts and feelings, especially in the vulnerable process of healing.
Trustworthyness is a part of the 麻豆原创 ethical and professional framework, to which I adhere, as a registered 麻豆原创 member this framework is integral to my work.
Please get in touch to find out if Talking Art Studio can help you. We will have a 20 minute online consultation which is free of charge to begin the conversation. Please be reassured that if we aren't the right fit, I will endeavour to signpost you somewhere more suitable.
Practice description
Our sessions take place in person in my peaceful art studio or via Zoom or telephone. My counselling approach is person-centred, meaning I provide empathy, acceptance, and a safe environment for you to reconnect with yourself and find your own way forward.
While traditional talking therapy is always available, I also offer creative approaches for those who find them helpful鈥攖here鈥檚 no need to be 鈥済ood鈥 at art; it鈥檚 simply another way to express and process feelings.
My aim is to offer a calm, grounding environment where you feel truly heard and understood. If this resonates with you, I welcome you to get in touch.
