About me and my therapy practice

At Balanced Life Counselling, I provide an open, inclusive and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences, enabling you to navigate difficult times and move towards a more settled life.

Together, we will process your emotions, enabling you to heal and cultivate a life filled with greater acceptance and joy. All sessions are conducted confidentially, allowing you to be open about what matters most to you and work towards improving your emotional and mental well-being.

I have extensive experience in supporting a diverse range of clients, as they face some of life’s toughest challenges. My work includes, but is not limited to, managing anxiety and intrusive thoughts, coping with infertility, guiding adoptive and foster parents through their journey in either group therapy or 1-2-1.

I also support clients dealing with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, domestic and sexual abuse, neglect, bereavement, and relationship difficulties, while helping families enhance communication between parents and children/teenagers. 

I integrate my training in person centred counselling with insights from neuroscience, Logotherapy, Buddhist and yoga philosophies, as well as bringing 30 years professional experience working as a leader in a high stress environment, often engaging with people affected by trauma.

By helping clients ground themselves in the present and employing techniques of breath-work and mindfulness, along with therapeutic counselling tools, I assist you in cultivating a greater sense of happiness and well-being.

Together, we can work through your unique challenges, empowering you to discover solutions and build resilience for a happier, healthier, and more balanced life.

Practice description

I strive to create a calm and tranquil setting where you can feel at ease and focus on what’s important for you. 

Sessions can take place indoors in a comfortable, serene environment, or outdoors while walking through the woods or nearby fields, allowing you to connect with nature as you explore your thoughts and feelings. 

For those who prefer a more flexible option, I also offer online and telephone sessions, ensuring that you can access support no matter where you are. 

Whatever the setting, my focus is on providing a safe and supportive space for you to work through your challenges and move towards a more fulfilling life.

There are a variety of approaches to the way practitioners work with their clients. I am qualified in a therapeutic approach called Person-Centered Counselling and I also have a BS (hons) in Psychology and am a qualified Yoga instructor who coaches on breath work and meditation.

I am also a mum to two amazing adult children, who came into my life through adoption as well as being a step-mum to 3 fabulous adult children.

By offering you a safe, confidential space you can begin to share aspects of your life that are tricky or concerning. Through talking therapy, you can begin to feel lighter, heard, and most importantly understood. I will walk beside you on your journey, offering support and  providing the empowerment you may need to make changes to your life.

I offer a complimentary 20 minute  consultation to discuss your goals, expectations, or concerns, with no obligation to commit to sessions. Choosing your counsellor can be like choosing a friend; a genuine connection fosters trust and encourages you to explore your authentic thoughts.
