I strive to accommodate clients’ schedules as much as possible, particularly for those balancing work, family, or other commitments. Sessions can be booked at times that fit your routine, and online sessions offer extra flexibility for those unable to attend in person.

About me and my therapy practice

You can be outwardly successful and privately exhausted. Many of the professionals I work with appear capable and composed, yet struggle internally with anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties. You may feel overwhelmed, low in mood, disconnected from your partner, or quietly questioning your direction.

I’m Helen, a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor, and founder of Healing Horizons. With over 15 years’ experience, I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, and relationship challenges. I work with individuals navigating work pressure, marital strain, separation, grief, and major life transitions such as career change.

I offer confidential online counselling and psychotherapy via Zoom, providing flexible, consistent support for busy professionals. Online therapy allows you to access help for anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns from the privacy of your own space.

My integrative approach combines Transactional Analysis (TA), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and evidence-based psychotherapy. Together, we explore patterns contributing to anxiety and depression, understand relationship dynamics, and develop healthier ways of coping and communicating. I provide a calm, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, gain clarity, and build emotional resilience.

Whether you are seeking short-term counselling for anxiety or relationship difficulties, or longer-term psychotherapy for depression and deeper personal growth, sessions are tailored to your needs.

Therapy can help you feel more balanced, more connected, and more confident in yourself and your relationships.

Practice description

In my therapy practice, I offer a compassionate, safe space where clients can explore their challenges, gain clarity, and reconnect with their authentic selves. My integrative approach combines Transactional Analysis (TA), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and principles of mindfulness and self-compassion.

I work with you to understand the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they influence your relationships and daily life. This approach is particularly helpful for those dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, or relationship difficulties. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns and work toward healthier, more compassionate ways of thinking and interacting.

Transactional Analysis (TA) helps us understand how we relate to ourselves and others by exploring the Parent, Adult, and Child aspects within us. We’ll examine how these inner voices affect your reactions and relationships, helping you develop more balanced and authentic ways of engaging with the world.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) focuses on working with different parts of yourself—whether it’s the inner critic, the wounded part, or the protector—to integrate them in a compassionate, healing way. By understanding and healing these parts, you can achieve greater self-awareness and emotional balance.

A key influence in my practice comes from Tara Brach and Rick Hanson, whose work emphasizes mindfulness, Radical Acceptance, and cultivating self-compassion. These practices support you in embracing both your strengths and vulnerabilities, laying the foundation for lasting healing and personal growth.

Many clients share that they feel deeply heard and supported, and leave our sessions feeling more equipped to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or personal growth, I work with you to create meaningful change and healing in a non-judgmental, empathetic space where you can rediscover your sense of self.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to connect and explore whether we are a good fit. I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, so this session is focused on establishing rapport, understanding your needs, and giving you a sense of what working together might feel like.

To make this as comfortable as possible, I offer a 30-minute initial session via Zoom. This allows us to meet face-to-face in a secure, private setting while keeping the commitment short and manageable. If Zoom feels overwhelming or difficult at this stage, we can also arrange the session via telephone.

During this time, you are welcome to ask any questions about therapy, discuss your current concerns, and explore what you hope to achieve. This is not a formal assessment!. My aim is to create a supportive, low-pressure space where you feel heard and understood from the start.

At the end of the session, we can discuss next steps and whether ongoing therapy would be helpful for you. This first meeting is entirely about connection, clarity, and comfort—so you can decide whether this is the right therapeutic fit for you.

Practice description

My practice is a boutique service, carefully tailored to each client. I take the time to really get to know you and understand how your experiences, relationships, and life story have shaped the person you are today. Therapy with me is thoughtful, relational, and deeply personalised, offering a calm and safe space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

You can expect to be gently surprised by what you discover about yourself. Together, we explore patterns, behaviours, and emotional responses that may have been operating outside your awareness. This may be done through reflective conversation, metaphor, imagery, or creative exploration, helping your subconscious become more conscious and understood.

Our work is collaborative and paced to suit you, ensuring you feel supported and not overwhelmed. I focus on helping you develop practices and insights that stay with you long after therapy ends—tools that support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and resilience in everyday life.

The changes we work toward are meaningful and long-lasting. By exploring your inner world with care and curiosity, you can gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of freedom in how you relate to yourself and others. My aim is to guide you toward transformation that feels real, sustainable, and empowering.
