About me and my therapy practice
Hello! I’m Charlie. Counsellor, doctor in Psychiatry, and founder of Ginkgo Wellbeing. I am based in Yorkshire and offer online video counselling for adults nationwide. My areas of specialism are anxiety, low confidence and self-esteem, as well as neurodivergence, including late identification of autism/ADHD and support through autistic burnout, all from a neurodivergent-affirming and lived experience perspective.
What can you expect? Everyone’s reasons for seeking counselling will be different and, whatever brings you to therapy, I am committed to offering a welcoming and supportive space for you. In me, you can expect a warm, accepting and down-to-earth therapist, who genuinely cares. It matters to me that you feel safe enough to open up and share your innermost experiences and know I won’t judge you. I work with a person-centred approach at my core, and also draw on other therapeutic modalities where relevant, always guided by you!
What are the benefits of counselling? Therapy isn’t only for navigating specific problems; it’s also for anyone looking to grow as a person. There is so much that can be gained, including: deeper self-awareness, greater understanding of your experiences and how you relate to others/the world around you, self-compassion, confidence in your identity, and a renewed life direction that aligns with who you truly are and your values.
I know how daunting it can be but if you’re ready to take this leap of faith, I’m ready to listen. Together, we’ll help you flourish.
