About me and my therapy practice
You may be exploring counselling with a clear sense of what you need to address, but you may arrive knowing only that you need space to think, to feel, or to be heard. Wherever you're starting, there are no expectations. I will hold a compassionate, supportive space where you can be understood and accepted without judgment.
I work by noticing what's present in our conversations. What you say and what you don't, the pauses, the way you describe yourself or deflect when something feels too close. We'll explore what's beneath the surface, gently uncovering the underlying rules, beliefs and emotional responses that create tension or hold you back from fully realising your potential. We'll piece this into a clearer, more detailed picture of who you are and how your experiences have shaped you, moving at whatever pace feels right and shaping our approach around what you actually need rather than following a fixed formula.
We often spend so much energy managing how we come across to others, it's how we feel accepted or belong, but it leaves us feeling misunderstood and disconnected. Our work will be different. It might take time before you feel ready to let your guard down, and I understand that trust builds gradually. My aim is to create a space where you can simply be yourself, not the version you think you should be.
Clients find their way to counselling for all sorts of reasons: abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, questions about identity or self-worth, relationship struggles, family issues, redundancy, stress, shame, trauma, and challenges at work.

Practice description
Counselling sessions run for 50 minutes from my accessible studio in the heart of Redruth. Online and phone sessions are also available, with no long-term commitments required.
We'll have an initial no-obligation call to answer any questions you have to ensure you feel that we are a good fit before planning and booking your first session.
There is low-cost parking on site, and the therapy space is a short walk from the Redruth bus and train station.
I currently offer a discount (£35 per session) for key workers, including NHS staff, volunteers and care workers. Just let me know during the initial message.
My first session
The first step toward counselling can be challenging, but the space we create is often the first time you can truly be yourself. You'll find a warm welcome and an accepting space to feel heard, understood, and valued.
Together, we will explore whatever challenges you’re facing. The initial session allows us to settle in and build a map of your life and experiences. We can also explore your goals for therapy and different ways we might work together.
