About me and my therapy practice
I understand that it can be difficult to know what to look for in a counsellor, and it’s important to find someone who feels right for you. That’s why I encourage you to book a no-obligation 15-minute call with me, so we can chat and see if I might be the right person to support you. It’s all about finding the right connection, and I’m here to make that process as simple as possible for you.
People come to counselling for many reasons, and no two people have the same needs or experiences. Whatever you bring to our sessions, I want to assure you that you will be met with a non-judgmental, empathic space. At times, I will gently challenge to help explore your thoughts and feelings.
I offer Person-Centred Counselling, which focuses on empowering you to find your own solutions, and Psychodynamic Counselling, where we can explore how past experiences may be influencing your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Working integratively means I draw on the different methods to tailor sessions to your needs.
As a qualified couples and relationship therapist, I offer counselling sessions to couples in-person at my private practice in Orpington, or online nationwide.
Some people come to therapy as a couple to keep their relationship healthy, to improve their understanding of each other through better communication and connection, while others seek to repair following a breakdown, managing the hurt and anger that goes with it. Whatever stage you are each at, I'll support you both as you work towards your relationship goals.
I have specialist training in loss and grief and understand how significant life changes such as loss of health, the end of a relationship, lifestyle change, redundancy, or death of a loved one or pet, can impact. I can support you as you navigate this, helping you to feel less anxious or stressed, rebuild confidence after loss, enjoy better relationships in your personal life or at work, and move forward to live your life as you want.
Practice description
I offer flexible session times, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate busy schedules. I offer in-person sessions at my private practice within my home. My therapy room is private, on the ground floor and there is free, easy parking available. I also offer remote sessions by telephone or online so you can access support in the way that feels most comfortable for you.
I have a limited number of sessions available at reduced rates for those on low income, counselling students, or people who have been on a waiting list for a counselling service for over 6 months. I may offer other discounted rates at my own discretion.
You may feel ready to make contact now but if you’re unsure, that’s okay - I am here to listen and help you take the next step when you’re ready.
You can visit my website for more information, or feel free to contact me via email or leave a telephone message. I endeavour to respond as soon as possible, and within 24 hours. I look forward to supporting you.
My first session
Individual Therapy
I offer a complimentary 15-minute no-obligation telephone call to discuss how I can help you. If you decide to begin counselling with me we then book your first session, which will be 50 minutes long. This is a chance for you to share with me what has brought you to counselling and I will ask you questions about your background, lifestyle, early years, family, social life and general health. This helps me to understand you better. I will explain how I work, the Ethical Framework I follow, and what you can expect from me, especially in terms of confidentiality. Together we will consider what feels right for you, and if you decide to continue we will agree on a time to meet each week.
Individual's session fee £45
Couples Therapy
As above, but before the first session, I will send you each a questionnaire, which I ask you to answer as honestly as you can. This helps me to get a sense of where you both are in your relationship and what issues there are for you. It helps me to see how I can best support you both. For fairness, I send all emails and communication to both partners.
Couple's session fee £65
