About me and my therapy practice

I understand how overwhelming life can feel, whether you are struggling with the weight of the past, anxiety about the future, or simply trying to get through each day. You may be facing a major life event or a more general sense of unease, exhaustion, or low self-esteem. Perhaps you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, work-related stress, or difficulties within relationships or family life. These struggles can leave us feeling stuck, uncertain, and alone. But change is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years working as a nurse in the NHS. That experience deeply shaped the way I work. It taught me the value of compassion, resilience, and most importantly the power of feeling truly heard. I bring this understanding into the therapy room, offering a space that is safe, warm, and non-judgmental.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, low self-worth, trauma, and grief, among others. My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic techniques to tailor our work to your individual needs. I offer a balance of compassion and gentle challenge, supporting you to explore what’s holding you back and empowering you to make meaningful, lasting changes.

Together, we will work at your pace to help you develop the tools and insight to move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-compassion. You are at the heart of our work, and I will be alongside you every step of the way.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic methods to support you in a way that best suits your unique needs. Whatever brings you to therapy, I will work with you as a whole person, not a list of symptoms. My counselling style is warm and friendly, yet professional. I will gently challenge you when appropriate and regularly check in to ensure our work together is helpful and meaningful.

At the heart of my practice are empathy, respect, and compassion. I aim to support you in finding your own answers, focusing on your lived experience so you can face life’s challenges with greater confidence and move toward your potential.

Clients often come to me for support with issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, fear of failure, stress, emotional or sexual abuse, past trauma, and exhaustion. Sometimes these concerns are part of more complex or long-standing patterns. At other times, clients simply feel stuck or lost, life isn't where they want it to be, and talking things through with a trained professional helps bring clarity and direction.

My training and experience with a wide range of clients allow me to adapt my approach using various therapeutic techniques, always with your goals in mind.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), I adhere to a professional ethical framework. I also engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure the quality and integrity of my work.

I offer a flexible, person-centred service tailored to your pace and needs. In a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space, we can explore your thoughts and feelings together, whatever you're facing, you won’t be facing it alone.

My first session

Free 20-Minute Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to give you the opportunity to learn more about how I work and to share what’s bringing you to counselling. I’ll explain my approach and what therapy might look like for you. This is also a chance for us both to see whether we feel like a good fit before committing to further sessions. There’s no obligation to continue, but if we decide to move forward, we can schedule your first session, and I’ll send over a working agreement.

Your First Session

In our first full session, I’ll explain more about how the therapy process works. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling so I can gain a fuller understanding of your needs and how best to support you. The session will move at your pace and comfort level, with the aim of creating a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.
