About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in working with men of all ages as they navigate life鈥檚 transitions 鈥 starting or changing careers, entering or leaving relationships, becoming a father, retiring, or facing bereavement, to name a few.
These periods can feel confusing, painful, or uncertain. It helps to have a space where you can speak openly about what feels difficult 鈥 or even impossible 鈥 to talk about elsewhere.
I know that choosing the right therapist can feel daunting. I want to give you a sense of who I am and how I work, so you can decide whether what I offer feels like a good fit.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Minster Centre, one of Europe鈥檚 leading training institutes for integrative psychotherapy. My integrative approach means I can work flexibly and adapt to what will support you best at any given moment.
My experience includes counselling within the NHS and community counselling services, as well as facilitating groups where men can share their experiences, build connection, and recognise they are not alone.
Before training as a therapist, I worked as a senior manager in a large organisation. I understand the pressures many men face, how we respond to stress and responsibility, and what it can take to navigate change and grow through it.
Practice description
You may have a clear sense of what鈥檚 brought you to counselling, or you might just know that something isn鈥檛 working and struggle to put it into words.
We鈥檒l work together to explore what鈥檚 going on in a way that feels creative, thoughtful, and grounded. The aim is to help you gain perspective, build on your strengths, and find ways forward that bring relief, clarity, and meaningful change.
Sometimes this means focusing on a specific issue over a short period of time. At other times, it can involve looking more deeply at long-standing patterns, relationships, or challenges.
We might explore how past experiences are shaping your current life, how stress shows up in your body, or how the cultural, religious, or social environment you grew up in has influenced you.
Many men start counselling wanting to 鈥渇ix鈥 a problem or stop feeling a certain way. Often, they leave with a stronger, steadier relationship with themselves and the people around them.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone call to give you a sense of whether you鈥檇 like to begin working together and to ask any questions you may have. There鈥檚 no obligation to commit to anything further.
If you decide to go ahead, we鈥檒l arrange an initial session so you can experience what counselling with me is like. We鈥檒l begin exploring what has brought you here and consider how we might work together in a way that feels useful and right for you.
If any of the above resonates and you are curious to find out more, I鈥檇 be glad to hear from you.
